TV Station Apologizes For Using Nazi Symbol To Wish Jews A Happy Yom Kippur
A Chicago television station used a Nazi symbol is a story about the High Holidays. This was what Jews were required to wear by Nazis during the Holocaust.
…the station apologized stating, “We are truly sorry for inadvertently using an offensive image in our story. We apologize and deeply regret the error.”
…European Jews were legally required to wear the yellow badge or distinguishing clothing going back as far the 13th century. The practice was phased out but the Nazis resurrected it during the Holocaust and we know how well that turned out.

this was no accident. rubitch had the audicity to disrespect millions of American Jews and others and now this. i’m not by nature a conspiracy theorist, but, being this is Yom Kippur, what’s the likely hood of two incidences on the same damn day? that we know of.

Due to the deliberate dumbing down of our country, I wouldn’t be surprised if the station folks had no idea what it meant. They probably saw the Star of David and thought “Oh, that’s something Jewish, let’s use that.”

How brain-dead do you have to be, to make this kind of mistake? The graphics editor should be disciplined and the station manager should, as a show of regret, offer a donation to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Some of the stock photos TV stations use are unbelievable. My local NBC affiliate was using one for years of Obama that had clearly been altered to make him look blacker- his eyes were rolled up- it looked like something from an old minstrel show. I started calling and emailing them with no result, finally got a local black politician to call the manager and it vanished- awhile. Then they tried to use it again. This time I posted it on the station Facebook page and ignited a firestorm. It went away for good. I think sometimes it is one person on their production staff, either clueless or who thinks they are being funny.
