Kim Davis Asks Court To Halt All Marriages

Posted by | September 12, 2015 13:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Kim Davis wants an appeals court to stop all marriages in Rowan County.

According to Buzzfeed:

In a new request to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, Davis’s lawyers took aim Friday at a Sept. 3 ruling from Bunning that expanded the Aug. 12 ruling to include “other individuals who are legally eligible to marry in Kentucky.”

…Davis also has appealed the contempt order itself and asked the 6th Circuit to halt Gov. Steve Beshear from enforcing what her lawyers refer to as a same-sex marriage “mandate.”

    Is she for real?
Well, she’s really a big hypocrite bigot wanting to continue her stupid asinine crap.

    • alpacadaddy September 12th, 2015 at 14:19

That picture perfectly illustrates the RWNJ’s… clutching mic, mouth open wide spewing vile bigoted small-minded rhetoric!

    • granpa.usthai September 12th, 2015 at 14:45

of course she’s not for real. With the dwindling of the religious leaders powers over the last few years, they gotta have something to draw attention to their ‘other world’ might and power. Explains why when their LYING balloons don’t float they just go right to the next without pause or hesitation. no time to question – just obey in faith and believe (no matter how many LIES it takes) – this is a ‘spiritual war’ for the soul of the nation! better we be a wholly Konservative Kristian nation of LIES, GREED and THIEVERY as they get MORE MONEY that way than respecting the EQUAL RIGHTS as specified in the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

    She is dumber than Palin

    • Larry Schmitt September 12th, 2015 at 13:56

I’d say it’s neck and neck.

      • StoneyCurtisll September 12th, 2015 at 14:00

At least Palin never got locked up over her stupidity..:)

        • Larry Schmitt September 12th, 2015 at 14:07

I guess there’s no justice in the world.

being that there’s no test that actually measures that low on intelligence, it’s hard to say, but, yea, I’ll live dangerously and go with your assessment.

    • Dwendt44 September 12th, 2015 at 15:48

One can only guess what Palin was using for brain power before she went to college for five years.

    • Chris September 12th, 2015 at 18:43

Whoa, there! Palin has a lengthy track record. Davis has to work to prove her stupidity is on that level.

  3. Mike September 12th, 2015 at 13:44

So she was lying when she said this was only about having her name on the licenses…
What she wants is for everyone to not just believe in her biblical interpretation, but to abide by her religious beliefs…
    No thank you Ms Davis…

If the Court of Appeals grants her wish, then it’s a vindication of her ‘righteous cause’.

And if the justices tell her to shove it, then it’s a sign that the nation has become heathen and Godless, and the court’s decision can be summarily ignored … much as she has done every time the judicial system has ruled against her.

    • Larry Schmitt September 12th, 2015 at 13:56

I could do with a little “heathen and godless” right now. Self-righteous holier-than-thou I’ve had up to here.

      • granpa.usthai September 12th, 2015 at 14:57

Kimberly has wallowed in a bit of ‘heathen and godless’ herself (even to the present) – sometimes it takes some wickedly delicious sinning to cleanse the ‘inner self’ sos you will be more acceptable to the words of righteousness while in a drunken stupor.

        BUTT!

I have found that God lives in the bottom of every fifth of 151 proof dark special aged rum and you can make some pretty good deals when you pour him out some doubles!

If the Court of Appeals grants her wish it is proof we are turning into a Theocracy and if the Judges tell her to shove it, then it’s a sign that the nation is still ruled by the Constitution.

      • Red Mann September 12th, 2015 at 14:38

Well, that’s the rational point of view, but for the right it’s an attack on Christians and Christianity by the evil Secularists. The right seems to be blissfully unaware that the Framers deliberately designed the Constitution to be secular. Thanks, David Barton.

        You heretic!

No, just somebody who believes in the Constitution and the Rule Of Law and NOT Sharia.

Kevin has always made his characters thinner than actual real life – maybe he saves more ink that way?

  6. granpa.usthai September 12th, 2015 at 14:34

sometimes Governors do mandate that Federal Law be upheld in their state. It prevents them from being sued in US Courts (AZ for example) for violation of US LAW. US LAWS trump State Laws because the States that are part of the UNION already have a little law tucked away in their State Constitution that gives preference to US LAW, otherwise they could not have joined the UNION.

    BTW:
for those who harp on States Sovereign Rights – how’d that work out for ya last go round when the Confederate States CENTRAL GOVERNMENT overruled ALL STATE RIGHTS, seized all production facilities, printed CENTRAL GOVERNMENT NOTES backed by CENTRAL GOVERNMENT NOTES and instituted military service CONSCRIPTION on the general population? All sos you could lose your ‘war of independence’ from the Central Government in Washington, DC to be under the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT in Richmond, VA with results lasting to this very day where the damn Yankees come to the best Suthen Vacations spots and have lots of fun with the Suthen women folk using the same Central Government Notes that was used in the North back then! Not too much damn better off for the rebellion r we?

    • Dave Taylor September 12th, 2015 at 15:04

They seem to want to go back to the Articles Of Confederation where each State has is own rules, it was such a failure that nothing could get done so they came up with the Constitution.

A bitter, spiteful woman being advised by disreputable lawyers.

    • Chris September 12th, 2015 at 18:41

I suspect she’s even more bitter now since she can’t play the martyr.

No court is going to put a halt on all marriage. There’s no compelling legal reason to do so. Until/unless the Supreme Court decides to overturn its ruling on the 14th Amendment, as it applies to marriage, the only out for a religious objector is for them to assign a surrogate or deputy, for the purposes of handling the cases to which they have a moral or religious objection.

    • arc99 September 12th, 2015 at 18:57

Her very clear goal of halting all marriages certainly puts a stop to the lie that this is about religious freedom.

How does it infringe her religious freedom if other clerks sign the marriage licenses? It does not. She is a typical right wing ideologue, completely lacking in self awareness and whose views rely on fundamental hypocrisy.

As her partner-in-hypocrisy husband demands the governor do his job, there is not a word about insisting that she do hers. The governor is doing his job Ms. Davis. You are the one who is derelict in her duties. Your inability to recognize that salient point, only serves to illustrate the ignorant hypocrisy which you call values.

Jesus Christ condemned divorce. Never said a word about gay people.

So take your cherry – picked Bible verses, along with your hypocrisy, and shove it.

I cannot wait for the moment when you go to register to vote or renew your driver’s license and the clerk at the desk tells you that due to his deeply held religious beliefs that women should neither drive, nor participate in politics, he cannot provide the lawful service you have requested.

Seems Kim needs a room with a Bible and very soft walls

    • whatthe46 September 12th, 2015 at 23:43

i think the room shouldn’t be padded, just cemented and no bible.

      • Suzanne McFly September 13th, 2015 at 10:16

The Bible she uses is in her head.

      • amersham46 September 13th, 2015 at 19:46

now now , we must respect her religious rights in her little padded kingdom

        • whatthe46 September 13th, 2015 at 19:49

          she should have it memorized.
