Huckebee: ‘Five Unelected Judges Think They Can Rule’

Posted by | September 9, 2015 07:30 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Uh, yeah, they can. It’s called the Supreme Court of the United States, and they’re one of the there branches of government, remember?

“Five unelected lawyers think they can rule. We’re here to say, ‘No, they cannot,” the former Baptist pastor said to a crowd of supporters who cheered in agreement.

In his speech, Huckabee highlighted the issue of the Supreme Court “making law” instead of upholding law, and the overreach of one governmental branch into another.

“Our founders warned us of the consequences of forgetting something that most of us learned in ninth grade civics. We learned that there are three branches of government. Not one, but three.” Huckabee continued, “Each is equal to the other.”

Which, of course, means that the court can rule, just like the legislative branch can and even the executive branch with executive orders. Oh, and it was five unelected judges who made George W. Bush president.

This imbecile has a real grasp of the legal system and the constitutional concept of separation of church and state

    • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 07:50

You forgot the most important part of that statement: NOT!

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 08:15

Huckabee has no idea of how our government works. He needs to go back and sit down on his toilet and read his Bible.

      • DogsRgoodpeople September 9th, 2015 at 15:20

Yeah, except that’s what made him delusional .

        • The Original Just Me September 10th, 2015 at 09:28

There is a BIG difference in reading the Bible and trying to interpret the Bible by twisting it and using it to obtain your own personal goals instead of following Jesus’s way.

    • Suzanne McFly September 9th, 2015 at 10:56

Can you imagine what these exact same people would do if President Obama said this after Citizens United? There would be blood in the streets and these nuts would be screaming for separation of church and state. Ignorance is bountiful among these types.

  2. Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 07:51

Alan, when are you going to stop confusing these poor souls with the facts?

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 08:14

These poor souls were confused long before Alan came a long. He just points out their Stupidity for the entertainment of the rest of us.

  3. The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 08:12

Huckabee once more demonstrated why he should never be President. He has not a clue of how our government works. The SCOTUS Can Not make laws. They can only determine if the laws that are already passed abide by the Constitution. If those laws do not meet Constitutional agreement, then they are declared null and void. That is all that the SCOFTUS can do.

    • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 08:35

But when their rulings don’t coincide with their narrow way of thinking, obviously they’re trying to rule. And we won’t have it! (or so they squeak in their impotent little voices)

      • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:40

Impotent. little, can be replaced with LOUD and STUPID.

        • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 12:52

Still impotent. Loud doesn’t equal power, which they will never get. there’s a difference between noise and sound.

          • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 13:30

Noise, that’s the word I was looking for.

  4. Obewon September 9th, 2015 at 09:37

What. Theocracy now? Another constitutionally illiterate Moron loved SCOTUS appointed G.W. Bush V Gore, but cries now because delusionals want to take their marble and pout. Article III “The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such lesser courts congress may create from time to time.” http://www.fjc.gov/federal/courts.nsf/autoframe!openform&nav=menu1&page=/federal/courts.nsf/page/183 Up to 60% of today’s millennial evangelical Christians support Equal Marriage! But not Huckabee family values dog torture and mutilation.

    • Mike September 9th, 2015 at 09:52

Never forget son #2 tried to sneak a loaded gun on a plane…Huckafuck is probably the single worst parent in this country.

R’s as always, on the wrong side of history.

I will inject Progressive Abraham Lincoln and Conservationist Theodore Roosevelt here. But they both got eliminated from the Party.

    • NIGHTWATCH ABCP ........ September 9th, 2015 at 12:27

You forgot to mention the SUPPORT he lent to Josh Duggar, the “friendly” CHILD MOLESTER and ADULTERER

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:35

One would never believe we have a Majority Rule Democracy based Republic here.

  5. Mike September 9th, 2015 at 09:54

If Huckafuck believes the bible is supreme to the constitution, it should disqualify him as a candidate.

    • Suzanne McFly September 9th, 2015 at 10:53

I don’t understand how his audience doesn’t understand this.

      • Mike September 9th, 2015 at 10:58

They completely understand…they want what he wants.

        • Suzanne McFly September 9th, 2015 at 11:35

Ugh, you just made me sick.

          • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 22:33

Sorry, but did you laugh first ?

            • Suzanne McFly September 10th, 2015 at 06:20

No, it makes me sad that even one person wants us to become something we have always been against as a country.

        • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:33

          Children ?

      • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:32

One word answer; ” Morons “.

        • Suzanne McFly September 9th, 2015 at 12:41

There are a lot more morons that I realized. I am not living in a cave, I have dealt with a lot of idiots it just seems like there are so many more than I ever expected.

          • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:50

They are very where. Beware, Be Afraid, They are breeding.

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:32

‘Five Unelected Judges Think They Can Rule’
    _______

As opposed to one unelected, sanctimonious gasbag who thinks HE can rule.

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:31

Who believes HE IS THE RULE.

  7. Budda September 9th, 2015 at 10:08

Sorry Huckleberry but those unelected lawyers can rule…on the law.

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:31

You said Rule on the law. You have it correct. They rule on existing laws but they can not make laws as the Corrupted Minds of the Right are trying to make us believe.

  8. Suzanne McFly September 9th, 2015 at 10:52

This is so vile how these evil political bastards are using this self righteous moron to promote their bigotry and hatred in the name of God. Anyone that supports this needs to be committed and we need to find out how society has failed them.

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 12:29

It’s all Reagan’s fault. He cut the budgets, opened the doors on the Asylums, and let the Republicans out.

  9. Tommie September 9th, 2015 at 10:55

But when they rule in your favor, they are the best mothrf*ckers on the planet! GTFOH!!

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 22:32

Oh, they Loved Corps. being declared People. Now they can Baptize them.

  10. Hirightnow September 9th, 2015 at 11:24

You will never be POTUS, Nehemia Scudder.

  11. arc99 September 9th, 2015 at 11:36

Just once, when they win in court, if these right wing ideologues would say, you know, I agree 100% with what the Court’s decision but litigation is not the way an issue should be addressed, I could respect their rants about “unelected judges”.

But these contemptible hypocrites never say a word about judicial overreach when they win in court. The court can hand the Presidency to one of their own and it is all just peachy keen. The court declares that corporations are people and it is a great day for democracy. As long as right wingers win, they have no concerns about judicial overreach.

I have said it before and I will continue saying it. There is no such thing as activist judges, judicial activism, judicial overreach etc or however else right wing whiners refer to losing in court.

The whole premise is nothing but sour grapes coming from people pissed off about losing in court, and frankly by all appearances, woefully ignorant of the United States Constitution.

Yes. Mr. Huckabee in this context, five unelected judges can rule just like they did when they put George W. Bush in the White House and there was not one f*cking word of criticism from you or any other right winger.

  12. robert September 9th, 2015 at 11:42

maybe there will be a way to jail huckabee instead of kim

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 22:30

I would say jail them together but they might breed and who needs more of this kind ?

  13. Zimmy Z Zimmerman September 9th, 2015 at 12:51

the Supreme Court does not rule the land..they don’t even write law..they simply interpret the constitution.

  14. Buford2k11 September 9th, 2015 at 12:55

    Preach it Mike…Sedition in Murika..

  15. Mann T. September 9th, 2015 at 13:09

    He makes far-out seem ordinary.

  16. Jodie September 9th, 2015 at 13:16

They don’t write laws, they interpret the constitution. Fortunately for equality, there is no LEGAL reason not to legalize same-sex marriage. These religious nutbags are just scared that they’re losing ground in America. People are becoming a little more tolerant of “different” things and people over time. Groups of people like LGBT and their supporters are becoming more vocal about inequalities. I, for one, and proud of the SCOTUS!!

    • Robert Smithson September 9th, 2015 at 15:01

Did you wholeheartedly support the Supreme Court’s Citizen’s United ruling too?

      • Jodie September 9th, 2015 at 15:33

Honestly? I didn’t follow this one.

      • tracey marie September 9th, 2015 at 15:49

did you, why do you agree with duggaring, why do you believe that fat women should be allowed to shove her faux beliefs down peoples throats, why do you hate America?

      • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 22:27

I did, and I am Proud to say it. I also, ” Still believe in Hilary ! “

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 22:25

Translation, they are losing members, therefore, they are losing donations.

  17. Mainah September 9th, 2015 at 13:26

And this guy wants to be President. Holy crap. What’s in that wine they drink at their church?

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 22:24

Jim Jones Church Punch, we wish.

  18. Laura911 September 9th, 2015 at 13:29

    The stupid, it burns me.

  19. No way out September 9th, 2015 at 14:36

What illiterate soul listens to anything this misguided lunatic spouts? If you do ,expect to be turned around at the pearly gates.

  20. Robert Smithson September 9th, 2015 at 14:58

Come on Mr. Huckabee get with the program. We now have a super judiciary that can handle just about every problem under the sun and a President who rules by fiat. We might as well just get rid of our legislatures nationwide and save some money.

    • tracey marie September 9th, 2015 at 15:48

      More teabagger stupid from you.

    • Mike September 9th, 2015 at 20:47

You’ll excuse me if I don’t join you in your paranoid, delusional, fantasy…

For the Constitutionally illiterate, (I mean you) this is how it works…

The Legislative Branch can create Statutory Law – Title Code
The Executive Branch can create Administrative Law – Executive Orders
The Judicial Branch can create Constitutional Law – Majority Opinions

The Supreme Court is not final because it’s right, it is right because it is final…

      • Robert Smithson September 9th, 2015 at 23:01

Far too many issues have gone to the Supreme Court that had no business going there, and this gay marriage issue was one of them. The whole idea should have been summarily laughed it’s back to the lower courts, and placed in the hands of the state legislatures where it belonged. Let the people decide these serious issues, not just a few lawyers in black robes. Judicial anarchy now exists in this land of ours.

        • Mike September 9th, 2015 at 23:20

But it wasn’t, so man up and get used to it. People said the same thing about interracial marriage, school integration, abortion, equal rights, and now, same sex marriage.
Judicial anarchy…where’d you hear that, on Breitbart.?
          Ridiculous hyperbole.
The fact that no one laughed this thing out of court should be a wake up call that you might be out of your league on this one. Give up while you still have a chance to get on the right side of history.
What difference does it make to you who marries who anyway…??? You probably don’t even know a single gay person, let alone gay couple.

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 22:21

Were you born this stupid or did you have to go to Dumb Dumb College ?
