Huckabee: God ‘Showed Up’ As Kim Davis

Posted by | September 9, 2015 17:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Mike Huckabee believes he was standing next to God in the form of Kim Davis as she was released from jail.

After leading Davis out to the tune of “Eye of the Tiger,” the Republican presidential candidate said that the Kentucky clerk’s stand could save America from the threat of “the tyranny of one branch of government.” Just as divine intervention started and sustained America, Huckabee said, “God showed up and he showed up in the form of an elected Democrat named Kim Davis.”

So I guess that’s jebus in the overalls…

You might be an ignorant hillbilly if…
It’s your big shot at getting on national TV, you stand in front of your closet fretting about what to wear, knowing clothes make the man, and still you pick the denim overalls and straw hat…

    • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 17:22

It’s the grey flannel suit of the redneck class.

    • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 17:24

      But it’s his best overalls.

      • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 23:44

A white shirt, a tie, and standard Blue coveralls is referred to as a Murtaugh Tuxedo around here. Murtaugh is a small rural Idaho town.

    • Budda September 9th, 2015 at 17:46

as I said before; not much of a class act there

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 23:40

Yup, that’s Jebus bringing in the sheep.

  2. Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 17:21

    We’re all f&cked.

    • Mike September 9th, 2015 at 17:23

I knew that, but it was nice someone other than me said it…

      • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 17:23

        Glad to oblige.

    • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 23:38

Men gare F’d up every time the feminine one gets the top side.

  3. Lyndia September 9th, 2015 at 18:50

Is he saying, this fat cow is God? I know some religious people are f up, but this has gone to far. God did not come back as Kim Davis. He would not fart in her bigoted, fat, face.

  4. Chris September 9th, 2015 at 18:52

Well, ignorant Christians following this demagogue, this is sacrilege. Not mine. Yours.

I don’t know what book or nightmare he is referencing here, but it certainly is not the Bible.

  5. tracey marie September 9th, 2015 at 18:55

god shows up to stop equality but not at a church where black believers are being slaughtered by a white supremacist, got it huckafck

    • Lyndia September 9th, 2015 at 18:59

Tracey, that is a good point. God did not stop those 800+ babies parts that was found in the septic tank in Ireland. This Huckabee fucker is crazy. He believes it is ok for a 9 year old baby, to have a baby.

      • tracey marie September 9th, 2015 at 19:03

I do not know what or how to take your comment, 800 body parts?

        • Carla Akins September 9th, 2015 at 19:11

Found in a mass grave in Ireland behind a convent. Abortions are a sin, but they were killing babies after they were born.I’ll look for the link.

          • tracey marie September 9th, 2015 at 19:22

            Wow, just wow. thanks

          • Bunya September 9th, 2015 at 20:22

Those murders were okay. Y’see, they were no longer fetuses, so it’s all good. Same with the Iraq war. The pope at the time came out with his obligatory; “Yeah well, we don’t like war but hey, shit happens. What’re ya gonna do?” speech, but I haven’t seen one priest or one nun protesting in Washington or bombing recruiting offices. But they took no time off from terrorizing women entering the PP clinics. So I can only conclude that they believe “life begins as conception – and ends at birth”.

            • Carla Akins September 9th, 2015 at 21:50

Evidently. I am still stunned at the number of people that have decided the PP videos are factual and not to be questioned. It gives me pause for human survival.

              • whatthe46 September 9th, 2015 at 22:06

i have actually had arguements with idiots that still believe it. i’ve even told them of that they admitted to lying and they still will ignore it. just like the gov. whose own investigators said there was no wrong doing, said so what. the truth just pisses them off.

                • Carla Akins September 10th, 2015 at 03:58

I know! I had to block half a dozen nutjobs on twitter last evening – calling me “sheeple” telling me to “?open my eyes” and “see the writing on the wall” calling me baby-killer…..

                  • whatthe46 September 10th, 2015 at 09:57

you read the truth, accept the truth. they read the truth and read it from the horses mouth that they lied and you should open your eyes? wow.

              • Bunya September 10th, 2015 at 10:05

There is this public access show based in Austin, TX, called “The Atheist Experience”. They explain, quite logically, why people will believe the BS they’re told to believe, and facts be damned. It’s quite interesting.

          • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 23:34

There have been many reporting’s of baby bones found in Convents and other Catholic churches. This is quite common but hushed up.

      • tracey marie September 9th, 2015 at 19:23

Now I know what you meant, Carla filled me in… upvote!

    • granpa.usthai September 10th, 2015 at 17:19

is he saying the bumm that was hitting me up last Saturday for free booze wasn’t god? that god was actually hiding out in a women’s jail cell crossed dress for the showers? how the hell is that possible? I mean, god was right there in my face, eye to eye, buy me a double and I’ll give you a seat at my left hand is what he said. then another double for 70 almost virgins. then another double and I wouldn’t have to hear any of these TVangelicals…only god could have made such promises as that!

      • tracey marie September 11th, 2015 at 17:15

        you are funny :)

  6. OldLefty September 9th, 2015 at 19:09

    Mohandas Ghandi nailed it;

‘I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.’

    But the grift is good.

    • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 19:39

This is one of those quotes that was probably never said, although it should have been, But it still expresses a fitting thought.

      • OldLefty September 9th, 2015 at 19:59

I thought it was from the Millie Graham Polak book, Mr. Gandhi, The Man

        • Larry Schmitt September 9th, 2015 at 20:01

I’ve read in more than one place that it was apocryphal. Doesn’t matter, because the thought is unfortunately on target.

  7. Carla Akins September 9th, 2015 at 19:10

You know how gun nuts are all “don’t use this tragedy for political gain”. That’s what this is. I know it’s not a popular opinion, but I have great sympathy for Kim Davis. I don’t think she’s doing it for the attention, I think she’s an incredibly unhappy and desperate woman that has made some very poor choices in life. I think she saw this dominionist congregation that her very judgemental MIL belonged to, as a way of redemption.
She wants forgiveness that she just can’t give herself. She was promised salvation, and redemption if she just followed the “literal” word of god. (or at least this preacher’s version of it) I think her own acceptance of her past and herself is all tied to her decision. I don’t think this is mentally healthy, but to each their own. Unfortunately, she has the encouragement of jackasses like Huckabee that prevents her from seeing this play out any other way. If she feels her salvation is dependent on not providing the means for gays to marry in her county, then she needs to step down, and any preacher worth his salt would have encouraged and counseled her to do so.

    • whatthe46 September 9th, 2015 at 19:19

i don’t have sympathy for her at all. and when she was learning whatever it is she was suppose to be learing from this preacher, surely they left out a lot. did she include those who have been divorced to refuse licenses to? no, she cherry picked who she would discriminate against. and quite frankly, she wouldn’t want to deny those who’ve been divorce to find happiness, where it took her 3 times to do.

      • Carla Akins September 9th, 2015 at 19:33

I have made terrible mistakes in my life, things I regret that I can never make up for – and the idea that I can have all of that washed away can be very appealing. Particularly for those more susceptible to suggestion and certainly being raised in Kentucky – I’m sure that she was never provided a more secular point of view. It does not give her the right to forgo her elected duties, or to keep others from doing so. However at this point, with her influence from her lawyer and the constant praise from famous folk, she will never come around. Every faithful person chooses to cherry pick the bible, honestly. I’m not saying that to upset anyone but objectively you could not follow the literal word of the bible, it’s too contradictory and well, people would be in jail. I just can’t hate her, I feel badly that will most likely never find peace within herself.

        • whatthe46 September 9th, 2015 at 19:52

about terrible mistakes, you’re not alone in that boat. “…with her influence from her lawyer and the constant praise from famous folk, she will never come around.” in that, i look at it two ways. 1) she won’t come around because she the type of person who is extremely weak minded and easily influenced or 2) she can’t “jump ship” and do the right thing because she will look like an even more fool and hypocrite. at some point even she has to admit even to herself if not others, that this b.s. has gone too far. sorry carla, i just can’t stand this woman at all.

          • The Original Just Me September 9th, 2015 at 23:30

            We agree.

        • Roctuna September 9th, 2015 at 21:00

I think you’re overly generous with your benefit of the doubt but Pope Frank would be proud of your mercy.

    • Dwendt44 September 10th, 2015 at 14:01

People with mental health issues often are very religious. As they improve, assuming they do, the religiosity lessens.

  8. Obewon September 9th, 2015 at 20:07

God heard that Huckabee and boy is she pissed off at your dissembling! F-4 Hurricanes headed right to you…

  9. Tommie September 9th, 2015 at 22:57

and a bit overly abundant in the bread basket than I remember.
      (not to mention the crossdressing)

  11. Dwendt44 September 10th, 2015 at 13:52

I watched all the news footage of this event and I didn’t see any gods standing around. Was he in disguise?

  12. granpa.usthai September 10th, 2015 at 17:07

gee, if huckie had ask his god why the change after 6,500 years (my GOD cannot lie -as in marriage certificates ain’t worth diddly unless Kimberly signs them) he could have caught the ‘angel of light’ right there in front of the world!
