Deputy Clerk Vows To Ignore Kim Davis

Brian Mason says he’ll continue to issue marriage licenses to gay couples even if Kim Davis orders him not to do so.

Mason — who hung a sign describing himself as the official “marriage license deputy” Friday morning, after Davis was jailed — is the deputy clerk who issued the county’s first marriage license to a same-sex couple and previouslyapologized to couples before turning them away on the clerk’s order.

Mat Staver, the head of the conservative Liberty Counsel that is representing Davis free of charge, signaled Tuesday that the county clerk would again refuse to follow court orders.

“Kim Davis cannot and will not violate her conscience,” Staver said.

      Earlier today I mused that I suspected her attorney has already told her that the book deal he has waiting in the wings for her will not fly until she’s been back in the clink another time or two.

    I hope he keeps detailed records if not a secret audio recorder handy. IF she orders him to stop issuing SS licenses, he can have proof that she did and he has grounds for a lawsuit if she tries to fire him for doing his job.

    She won’t have even a “religious objection” defense, if she tries to interfere with others issuing marriage licenses. She can’t be “guilty by proxy”, in the eyes of God. The gospel clearly states that each man (or woman) who believes in Christ is responsible for no one’s sins but their own. So, not interfering with the actions of others, cannot make their “sins” her “sins”. I guess we’ll see what happens.

      uh, has she not already interfered with the ‘sins of others’ by refusing to do her SWORN LAWFUL DUTIES while receiving payment for such from PUBLIC FUNDS?

      only if her ‘faith in her god’ dictates that she should FIRE those who will do the SWORN DUTIES she refuses to do. Part of the EXTREMELY FAVORING of supporting these LYING THIEVING Konservative Kristians above ALL OTHER RELIGIONS by the LAW is that she does not interfere with her subordinates UPHOLDING THE LAW, while of course, she herself will continue to receive her paychecks from PUBLIC FUNDS while refusing to DO HER JOB. Perhaps she will be a loud and vocal witness at her job as to the dedication of ‘Konservative Kristians’.?

    Looks like “The Huck and Cruz Show” will have to find another location as Kim Davis is effectively out of this part of her job.

    BTW, I’m curious as to whether Survivor will go after them for using “Eye Of The Tiger” without permission.

    Let me guess, if Kim Davis fires Brian for his insubordination, and then he claims that his deeply held beliefs won’t allow him to break the law, the Christian Taliban grifters will be nowhere to be found.

      only those who have a ‘conscience’ that supports their ‘deeply held religious beliefs of being the superior religion’ are allowed to stand up for their ‘faith’.
      all others (like injured workers in NC who refused to sign off on the Konservative Kristians’ crooked deals) are F’D.

    Seems her conscience is selective. Against god’s law to issue a license to gay couples, but adultery and divorce are OK.

    Her “conscience” does not grant her the power to hijack other people’s consciences. That is a county office. Not her personal private church.
