Poll Shows Trump Beating Clinton

Posted by | September 5, 2015 08:30 | Filed under: Politics

A new SurveyUSA poll shows Donald Trump beating Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head matchup.

The poll finds that when it’s a choice between Clinton and Trump, Trump gets 45 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent. And among registered voters who say they’re really paying attention to politics, it’s Trump with 54 percent and Clinton with 36 percent.

Trump also beats Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and Al Gore in head-to-head matchups too. (Also, take note of how they’re polling with two Democrats not in the race––one of whom who’s barely bubbled up in the 2016 speculation––while leaving out the other Democrats who are actually running.)

One poll out earlier this week found that the only Republican beating Trump in a head-to-head primary matchup is Ben Carson.

It is hard to believe Americans are that stupid.

    • fahvel September 5th, 2015 at 10:14

really? Considering how the usa treats the rest of the world, do we assume then that all americans are mean selfish power hungry turds?

So it is biased to feed those in the bubble. Hope those in the bubble enjoy being fed info that isn’t accurate.

      • tracey marie September 5th, 2015 at 10:51

Most polls by them are biased, fox then MSNBC are big clients for them, The client sets the goals and parameters of the poll.

Enjoy it? They thrive on it. The crap that falls from BS Mountain is like manna to them.

    • Dwendt44 September 5th, 2015 at 10:29

I hope they are as overconfident as they were when good ole Mitt was sure to win in a landslide.

      • tracey marie September 5th, 2015 at 10:49

This is a way to gin up the base. I think it will make them(rwnj) choose the most devisive person and hand the Senate and the WH to the Dems with no heavy lifting required

    More details from the survey

    * Trump 53%, Biden 37%.
    * Trump 54%, Gore 36%.

Survey USA describing themselves: ”SurveyUSA is an independent, non-partisan, full-service opinion research firm that conducts scientific research for media, government, and private-sector clients. By many measures, SurveyUSA is the nation’s largest public opinion polling firm. As of 2002, 19 of the nation’s then 25 largest media companies had contracted with SurveyUSA to conduct opinion research.”

And this they state in their methodology – which is really interesting!

”SurveyUSA interviewed 1,000 USA adults 09/02/15 and 09/03/15. Of the adults, 900 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 58% (522) pay “a lot” of attention to politics. This survey was conducted using blended sample, mixed-mode. Respondents reachable on a home telephone (62% of registered voters) were interviewed on their home (landline) telephone in the recorded voice of a professional announcer. Respondents not reachable on a home telephone (38% of registered voters) were shown a question on their smartphone, tablet or other electronic device. Cell respondents, as is typically the case, vote more Democratic than do landline respondents. Among just the universe of cell-phone respondents, Clinton defeats Trump by 16 points; Sanders defeats Trump by 12 points; Biden defeats Trump by 17 points; and Gore defeats Trump by 17 points. The more cell-phone respondents a pollster includes in its “mix” of voters, the more Democratic the poll results will be.”

and within 300million these 1000 represent what?

      • Mann T. September 5th, 2015 at 10:20

Exactly. I would expect USA requires at least 3000 to take into account complex demographics. Not stating a margin of error is interesting as I reckon it may be as high as 25%! But the cellphone data with Bernie leading is interesting.

        • Tommie September 5th, 2015 at 12:42

Not to me Bernie is a breathe of fresh air!

          • Mann T. September 5th, 2015 at 12:45

Agreed. I was very pleasantly surprised. These biased folk might just have shown a trend!

            • mea_mark September 5th, 2015 at 13:38

We need a get out the vote campaign focused on using peoples cell phones.

      • granpa.usthai September 5th, 2015 at 10:56

Romney should have won 2012 by a landslide!

all the Foxfans ‘believed’ and some were quite a bit disturbed when the lesser god of the Democrats beat the crap out of the Greater GOD of the Republicons.

hey! – dumb asses – remember what religion the GREEDY BISHOP was attached to?

hell, GOPs said themselves Romney’s god was less than their GOD.

        ZIP

    • mea_mark September 5th, 2015 at 10:20

So it is easy to get the results you want by playing with the methodology. In other words, the poll could be useless, except for getting viewer attention and selling ads.

    • granpa.usthai September 5th, 2015 at 10:52

would be interesting to see how they polled the 2012 Presidential Election up to about 8PM eastern?

  5. fahvel September 5th, 2015 at 10:11

carson and the fart eh? well bless the usa’s future decline into the bowels of hate and misery and, of course, elitism.

  6. Foundryman September 5th, 2015 at 11:43

I think it’s silly to think Trump and the republicans can’t or won’t win. This poll is probably accurate. They have been attacking Clinton for well over a year now, the media is Trump all the time, it doesn’t matter the crazy things he says, they report on how popular he is not what he said, they make sure everyone knows Bernie is a socialist and Biden is a klutz or clone of Obama who they thoroughly hate to the core. They are currently making a martyr out of a auditor in Kentucky to rally the christian troops. Everywhere I go, all I hear is the fear of losing the country to the anti god, anti gun, anti jobs, anti war anti police, democrats, even at a retiree union meeting the other day.
It seems all the attacks are met with silence from the left, except Maddow, and most people don’t know who she is, in fact there doesn’t even seem there is any attempt to counter any of the attacks or any mechanisms in place to counter. It’s silly to think we can win yet do nothing but believe the other side is to crazy to win. It’s time for the Dems to wake up and fight back.

    • mea_mark September 5th, 2015 at 12:10

Republicans win when people don’t vote, democrats win when people do vote. Vote people, Vote. Your future depends on it.

  7. Tommie September 5th, 2015 at 12:45

Trying to discourage people from voting this far out from the elections will not work!

  8. Scopedog September 5th, 2015 at 12:58

Christ…it’s one f*#!ing poll and everyone is losing their collective sh@! over this.

But then again, Foundryman does have a point–there have been nothing but relentless attacks on Hillary from the MSM and also, sadly, from some on the Left who are more interested in launching salvos at her and Obama instead of at the GOP. Meanwhile, Trump is getting verbal fellatio from the MSM and even some on our side of the fence are swooning for him because of the “tax the rich” breadcrumbs he dropped. Oh, and some are starting to believe that there really must be something there in the relentless GOP attacks on Hillary.

The media is already in the tank for the GOP–and we are not helping, not with the friendly fire actions going on here.

Other polls are saying that Hillary beats Trump and company. Start reading Nate Silver; at least he knows what the hell he’s talking about and he’s had a better track record when it comes to determining the outcomes of elections.

    • Mike September 5th, 2015 at 13:07

Wouldn’t he have to win the nomination first…??? Call me when that happens…
I agree, Nate is really the only guy with any credibility left. He hit the last 2 elections with 98.4% accuracy, no one else even came close.

  9. allison1050 September 5th, 2015 at 16:22

It’s too damned early to even really to even discuss polls but it’s easier for the fake press to Not ask about issues.

  10. makikijoe September 6th, 2015 at 20:40

Trump’s luster will wear thin soon enough. He has ALREADY alienated several groups with his rash remarks. My hunch ? He will not even win the GOP nomination.
