New Mexico’s GOP Secretary Of State Charged With Embezzlement And Fraud

Posted by | August 29, 2015 10:30 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

A 64-count criminal case has been filed against Dianna Duran.

The complaint said Duran misused campaign contributions for personal expenses, adding that the investigation was sparked by a tip that she deposited large amounts of money into her personal bank account that did not line up with her known income streams.

The complaint said funds were then transferred between her personal and campaign-affiliated accounts, culminating in “large debits for cash expenditures occurring at casinos throughout the state of New Mexico.”

The complaint said more than $430,000 was withdrawn from Duran’s bank accounts from eight casinos between 2013 and 2014, roughly as much as she reported on her joint tax returns from 2010 to 2013 combined.

In addition to embezzlement, money laundering and violations of the state’s Campaign Practice Act, the complaint includes charges of fraud, conspiracy, tampering with public records and government misconduct.

I hate corrupt politicians. Don’t care what party she is…I cheer equally when they’re caught and convicted.

When it is ALL about the money and not the people, this is what happens these so-called campaigns are for getting money lying about how much things cost and keeping that cash for themselves!

Doesn’t sound well thought out and the Casino thing might be a clue. I suspect a claim of gambling addiction to mitigate the charges will be forthcoming.

Her PR manager will arrange a “People” cover story detailing her “troubled life”, she’ll come to Jesus, and then get bailed out by a GoFundMe movement.

But the important things for the right are God, guns, and gays. They don’t care if she is stealing to support her gambling addiction, as long as she is on the right side of the issues that truly matter.

and i bet she doesn’t believe in same sex marriages either. but, if memory serves me correctly, and it’s faulty i’ll admit, doesn’t 1 of the 10 commandments say, thou shall not steal. i could be wrong. but, i don’t think it says, “thou shall not get married to someone you love especially if they are the same sex.”
