Lindsey Graham: ‘I Think We Need To Be A Nation At War’

Yes, he actually said this.

In an interview Aug. 23 on “Fox News Sunday,” Graham commented on the Aug. 22 thwarted attack by Ayoub El-Khazani on a train headed to Paris, France. He said the incident was another example of lack of U.S. forces to fight enemies overseas.

“The whole world is a battlefield and radical Islam is everywhere,” he said. When he was asked whether passports from “certain regions” should be limited by the U.S. government, Graham said: “Absolutely. I think we need to be a nation at war. We’re letting our defenses down. We’re not acting like we’re at war anymore. We’re acting like we’re trying to fight a crime. It’s going to come back to bite us.”

The right has lost all sense of reality, we need to be a nation that is at peace with the world not killing and maiming others for sport and ego.

careful there: the usa is the primary cause for the majority of the violence in the world right now and its corporate govt can’t afford to stop it.

So much for women being the kinder, gentler, sex…Ms Lindsey, what the hell is wrong with you…???

It was funny for a while, Linds.

But your obsessive need to show us you’re not a pansy is getting old. As much as your fantasy that you’ll be our next president.

American children are not fodder for Republican perpetual wars; ergo his ZERO standing in the polls.

      Very Good Post

Cheney is scheduled to give a public address that will be aimed at advancing their views on (their perpetual war) the Iran deal; I predict that it will have the same effect on the American public, zero support and the Iran deal will be passed by Congress because of his speech not despite it.

The American backlash to this former VP is unheard and unparalleled of in our history.

What a nut. He’s so uptight I hope he stays near his fainting couch so he doesn’t get hurt when he gets a case of the vapors.

    Hey Linds,
Grab your fatigues and M-16 (do they still use those?). You lead, we’re right behind you.

    NOT!

Geeze – will Johnny McCain just divorce his wife and move in with his BF and get it over with? Then they can RETIRE from public office, get married to each other like they want to be and stop trying to destroy America.

Just DO IT, boyz – stop trying to take out your in the closet frustrations on the entire world by murdering half of it’s citizenry.

The never ending quest of all republicans to take any
and every opportunity for another war for profit, will
another 4500 dead American soldiers and hundreds of
thousands of innocent others and another $3 trillion
dollars be enough for them next time or will they want
some more? and one other thing–how many of THEIR
children are they willing to KILL for their ego??

    Windsey wants war

  14. Bunya August 25th, 2015 at 13:50

I think Lindsey talks this way because, IMO, he doesn’t know the military now accepts gays.

      F Y I: Lindsey Olin Graham is a RETIRED Colonel (0-6) with OVER 33 years of service in the USAF, Air National Guard and the USAFR. His PRIMARY job, while on active, Guard and USAFR duty, was withing the JAG Corps. Colonel Graham’s retirement was mandated by the statutory retirement age of 60 for his rank/pay grade. YEARS of SERVICE;
      1982 – 1988 Active USAF
      1989 – 1995 ANG
      1995 -2015 USAFR

      • Bunya August 26th, 2015 at 11:28

Great! With all his years of military experience, if he thinks “we need to be a nation at war”, then he’d be well prepared to fight in these wars he so desperately wants, and leave our young ones to live in peace.

        • NIGHTWATCH ABCP ........ August 26th, 2015 at 12:07

You will note that I stated that his ENTIRE career was within the JAG Corps — Judge Advocate General Corps, ie a lawyer “pushing papers” behind a DESK. I’m sure that COLONEL Graham DID fire a weapon at LEAST once a year, like we ALL did, to “qualify” when deployment was to an OSEAS assignment that was considered in a “hostile” environment. When I received my PCS orders from Japan to Germany (during the “Cold War” days), I had to qualify AGAIN with the M-16 AND “small arms” to be eligible for THAT assignment. THEN there was the CBW training ……..

  15. Robert Kennedy August 25th, 2015 at 18:38

You and yours first Ms Graham. Being crackers, did Nabisco use you for their name for theirs? I feel that anyone in congress who votes for war should be required to spend a year on the front lines, no matter what your age or health condition.

  16. cwazycajun August 27th, 2015 at 10:46

and Im sure ms graham his his brave republicons will at the same time not ad extra pay for those fighting their wars and decide its good policy to again defund the VA
