Perkins: Duggar Tarnished ‘Family Values’ Movement

Posted by | August 21, 2015 14:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council says Josh Duggar, who worked for the group, has tarnished his movement.

Perkins went on to add: “His deceitful behavior harms his family, his friends, his former coworkers, and the cause he has publicly espoused. Those of us who advocate for family values in the public square are held to a higher standard, and Josh’s failures serve as a painful reminder of the destructive effects of not living with integrity. We are praying for the family.”

The FRC hired Duggar be the face of the pro-family, anti-LGBT organization, trading in on his celebrity as the eldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of the popular 19 Kids and Counting television show.

In his capacity as a vice president with the FRC, Josh Duggar was at the forefront of the organization’s assault on same-sex marriage, with Duggar denouncing same-sex unions as an “attack” on the family, children, and “Christian values.”

The FRC is a hate based organization so I’m not sure Josh’s actions changed a thing…it merely showed those who support the organization what hypocrites they ALL are. Perkins makes hateful comments for a living….

        How come I’m not laughing…???
I think they’re no different than the Klan, just better at making their message sound reasonable.

And they wear very expensive suits instead of sheets with eye holes.

    • Larry Schmitt August 21st, 2015 at 15:21

They think by putting “family” in their name, they can fool us all into believing their lies about “family values.”

Hey c’mon, nobody cares about the “Kardashians for Christ” and their little indiscretions.
Lets get back to the REAL news.

Pornography is bad, (unless it comes in the form of Fox News)…
      With links.

  3. jasperjava August 21st, 2015 at 14:33

You know who else tarnished the “Family values” movement, Tony? You, and your fascist organization, and every disgusting conservative “Family values” politician who don’t give a $#!t about real families and their priorities.

    • Larry Schmitt August 21st, 2015 at 15:24

It’s almost always the “family values” bsers who get caught in the porn stings, like it’s the loudest homophobes who get caught with a male hooker.

    Some small corrections.

Those of us who advocate for Value Lock & Key higher standards, serve as a painful reminder of the destructive effects of not living with the integrity of having a sturdy enough deadbolt on the bedroom doors..

Christian grifting is big business…take the pro circuit for example (as opposed to the amatuers) Last month, Right Wing News put together a report examining the financial data for 17 conservative and “tea party” political action committees and breaking down how those groups spent the considerable amount of money they collected in donations. What they found was a widespread and lucrative scam operation. The report ranked the groups by the amounts they spent during the 2014 election cycle, and found that the bottom 10 PACs spent a combined $54 million overall, but just over $3.5 million was actually spent on candidates running for office. The rest was pocketed by consultants or vendors, and it was all (probably) legal, owing to our grossly complex and loophole-ridden campaign finance laws.

      Palin PAC $2.7 M …. 5% went to candidates
      Huckafuck $1.7 M….. 5% went to candidates
The list goes on….and it’s all legal…Thank Citizens United.

If their constituency became educated, they would no longer exist. No wonder why they demonize teachers.

Damn, even Don Fanucci doesn’t wet his beak to 95%!

        $200/$600 is only a 33% bite.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18Mr2Vv9zUg

Don Fanucci: Young man, I hear you and your friends are stealing goods. But you don’t even send a dress to my house. No respect! You know I’ve got three daughters. This is my neighborhood. You and your friends should show me some respect. You should let me wet my beak a little. I hear you and your friends cleared $600 each. Give me $200 each, for your own protection. And I’ll forget the insult. You young punks have to learn to respect a man like me! Otherwise the cops will come to your house. And your family will be ruined. Of course, if I’m wrong about how much you stole, I’ll take a little less. And by less, I only mean – a hundred bucks less. Now don’t refuse me. Understand, paisan? Understand, paisan?… Tell your friends I don’t want a lot. Just enough to wet my beak. Don’t be afraid to tell them!

Yeah, I miss the old time crooks that just steered a contract to their brother-in-law, maybe raided a pension fund or two…you know, friendly corruption that was a sort of a perk.
Today’s con men want it all…the best of the best are running for president

          • BigDumbWhiteGuy August 21st, 2015 at 19:20

What ever happened to honest crooks?

    • StoneyCurtisll August 21st, 2015 at 20:18

      Right On~!

  5. pignose4.0 August 21st, 2015 at 15:48

They could write a book on all the family value clowns who have SINNED…….child molesters, infidelity, gay sex, rape, bestiality……………sickos.

  6. Nonbiased August 21st, 2015 at 15:56

I always think of Jimmy Swaggart and his “I have sinned” speech. No, you got caught. You were fine with the sinning. Same goes with Josh Duggar and the rest of the judgmental “Kardashians of Christianity”.

  7. tracey marie August 21st, 2015 at 16:13

sexual molestation, pedophilia, divorces, affairs are all “forgiven” but marriage equality…hell no!

  8. azeyote August 21st, 2015 at 17:16

where was their outrage when he diddled his little sisters – cheating on your wife, with other virtual sluts, crosses the line i guess? wonder if Huckabee loves him now? –

  9. Chris August 21st, 2015 at 18:13

Actually, having Josh Duggar front for this group is excellent advertisement for how morally bankrupt the whole operation is.

The gross hypocrisy of pointing to gays as endangering straight marriage is there for all to see. Even you, Huckabee.

    • StoneyCurtisll August 21st, 2015 at 20:15

      High Five Chris~!

  10. maggie August 21st, 2015 at 18:19

family values is code for misogyny, homophobia and white supremacy, Dugger fits right in

  11. BigDumbWhiteGuy August 21st, 2015 at 19:19

He hasn’t tarnished it, he’s only served to further expose them for the freaks that they are.

  12. Syzygy August 21st, 2015 at 19:52

    You can’t tarnish a turd.

  13. StoneyCurtisll August 21st, 2015 at 20:13

Just wait until Tony Perkins is finally outed as the obvious closeted homosexual he is….
(not that there is anything wrong with that) unless he is condemning people for being homosexual.

  14. jasperjava August 21st, 2015 at 20:59

I never know what these right-wing freaks are talking about when they talk about “family values”.

In MY family, we value respect, tolerance, acceptance of others. We value peace, democracy, and human rights. We value fair wages, equality, human dignity. We value the right of women to choose what’s best for them, to control their own bodies and reproductive choices.

I don’t understand what these ignorant right-wing conservative bigots even mean when they talk about “family values”. They are certainly not MY family’s values.

  15. dave-dr-gonzo August 21st, 2015 at 21:32

Y’all have it backwards, Perkins. Josh is the new poster boy for your so-called “family values” movement. He’s your albatross. Enjoy!

    • StoneyCurtisll August 21st, 2015 at 22:19

      BOOM~!..
      You nailed it~!

  16. StoneyCurtisll August 21st, 2015 at 22:36

    Hey Tony Perkins…
Your “movement” was tarnished long before Josh Dugger came along..
The number of “family values” politicians and advocates who have went down in scandal and salaciousness behavior outnumbers the ones that are still untainted with sin and acts of immorality.
Why anyone in right mind listens to your tripe is beyond rational judgment.

Can’t tarnish what was made corroded

  18. ErnestineBass August 22nd, 2015 at 17:09

The polish is off the turd.
