The recently-indicted Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, has filed a friend of the court brief with the U.S. Supreme Court which would deny insurance coverage to women if the policy pays for contraception their employers object to.

A lawsuit has been filed by East Texas Baptist University and Houston Baptist University against the federal government over a provision of the Affordable Care Act which requires some employers–including nonprofits–to offer health plans that include contraceptive coverage. The universities oppose emergency contraceptives, including the so-called morning-after pill, and intrauterine devices (IUDs).

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires employers with 50 or more full-time employees to offer health plans with “minimum essential coverage,” which includes access to federally approved contraception for women, with no copayments or deductibles….READ MORE at  LiberalAmerica.org

Well, an amicus curiae means nothing, the law doesn’t even require they be read let alone added to the public record.
    He’s shooting nothing but blanks…

It’s all preening in front of the camera for his rabid base. I’d like to file an amicus that Paxton is a 4-star idiot; it would hold as much relevance.

But at least yours holds some truth.

Yeah, I’m thinking there’s a little deflection going on there too what with him just getting indicted and all…
Wonder how it feels to be AG while facing life in prison for political corruption…he be gone in a bit…and won’t be missed at all.

Social conservatives have a curious take on the politics and ethics of contraception and pregnancy:

Step 1) Slut-shame any female who chooses to use birth control, make it unavailable to minors, and decry the lack of morals when an unplanned pregnancy occurs.

Step 2) Force said pregnant females to give birth, but once the baby is born … f*ck ’em both — they’re on their own!

They only decry lack of morals if it is someone not like them, example…bristol.

slut shame. well, even married women need birth control. not everyone wants to fk’n have 19 and counting.

      • labman57 August 11th, 2015 at 20:29

Oh no. The purpose of sex is purely for procreation. Sexual activity between married couples while using birth control defies the will of God.

but, how much you wanna bet he doesn’t say that a man’s di*k pill should no longer be covered.

I’m with Saint Augustine, who said:

da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo

Oh, Master, make me chaste and celibate – but not yet!

Keep up the good work Texas. Because abstinence education is just as good eh?

  7. Tommie August 11th, 2015 at 22:31

Why is it that us guys can have insurance covering vasectomies but not cover what women need for birth control? May be a dumb question but i do not get it!

  8. Warman1138 August 12th, 2015 at 05:49

Guys like Paxton must hate their mothers hence the whole war on women thing, or he’s trying to appeal to his jury base. Either that or he’s genuinely ignorant.

Doesn’t this buttwipe have enough on his plate ???

Texas must be a paradise of law and order because the AG has all this time and resources to spend on interfering with women’s medical rights. He’s getting off (and I mean in a sexual way) in interfering the sex lives of as many women as he can. They should just submit to his will and let him have his way with them in likely the only way he can manage that doesn’t involve violence.

You’d think this guy would want to lay low for a while.

  12. Bunya August 12th, 2015 at 21:04

That’s because Jesus hates – HATES – women having sex! Disgraced AG’s who defraud church-going parishioners out of their hard-earned cash? Not so much.

Is it just me, or does this guy look like an older Josh Duggar?
