Darren Wilson: Blacks Have A ‘Different Culture’; Avoids ‘Mixing Pot’

Posted by | August 3, 2015 12:29 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Darren Wilson, the cop who shot and killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, spoke to Jake Halpern in The New Yorker. His words contained racial undertones.

Wilson repeatedly insists to Halpern that race wasn’t a part of how he did his job—“Everyone is so quick to jump on race. It’s not a race issue.”—but, in the most telling part of the profile, goes on to describe a blind, black, single mother who was powerless to stop her kids from causing trouble and allegedly committing crimes, no matter how many times Wilson tried to catch them carrying weapons.

“They ran all over the mom. They didn’t respect her, so why would they respect me?” He added, “They’re so wrapped up in a different culture than—what I’m trying to say is, the right culture, the better one to pick from.

Wilson noted that another inconvenience he’s suffered as a result of his killing of Michael Brown—other than occasionally being forced to think about Michael Brown, as a person—is that he has to be pickier about where he eats out.

“We try to go somewhere—how do I say this correctly?—with like-minded individuals,” he told Halpern. “You know. Where it’s not a mixing pot.”

Not seeing the racism. But the timing couldn’t be better. Nice reminder for me to alter my driving route this Saturday.

“We try to go somewhere—how do I say this correctly?—with like-minded
individuals,” he told Halpern. “You know. Where it’s not a mixing pot.”

Like minded individuals = white people.

Where it’s not a mixing pot = no colored people

      • R.J. Carter August 3rd, 2015 at 12:49

In St. Louis, in this environment, after all the media indictment of him, I’m surprised he goes anywhere at all. But I can hardly blame him.

        • allison1050 August 3rd, 2015 at 13:16

Why not RJ he’s a murderer and has gotten off because of the racist DA not allowing witness testimony except for a proven lying racist white bitch…that was easily said so what’s difficult about the unfortunate truth..nothing.

        • NW10 August 3rd, 2015 at 14:00

Maybe he should’ve thought about that before he shot Michael Brown instead of “being in fear of his life.”

      • anothertoothpick August 3rd, 2015 at 13:30

Yeah! That is the problem. Like minded people where the “N” word is constant, followed by group laughter.

I took a motorcycle ride through the south just after Obama got elected the first time.
Illinois plates on my bike. You can imagine the treatment I got. And I am white.

      • FatRat August 3rd, 2015 at 15:12

Just because a group of “like minded” folks eat together, doesn’t necessarily make them racist. Take a look at these like minded folk in this pic. They have a nice red and blue table cloth drying. Uh on, upon closer inspection that ain’t a table cloth. Why are the waiters wearing dunce caps? Uh oh, “like minded” folk seem to have empty minds and hearts full of hate.

Look at that table. So much is now abundantly clear. Carbohydrates slathered in mayonnaise for that redneck physique, and charcoal lighter to kill off those pesky brain cells.

  2. NW10 August 3rd, 2015 at 12:39

The biggest injustice in this nation was not indicting Wilson, putting him on trial, and finding out what actually went on that day. It may very well be that Wilson was defending himself, but we’ll never know the facts and another potential thug is allowed to walk free. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wilson develops a Zimmerman complex.

    • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 13:02

one thing for certain is that he will have to think about Brown everyday of his life, and i hope he’s fucking miserable having to do so. he will never stop thinking about him. and to be a racist, i would imagine aside from the fact that you’re miserable any damn way thinking about hate all the time, not being able to put one specific person that you hate so much out of your head, in my opinion, is grand.

      • anothertoothpick August 3rd, 2015 at 13:22

You raise a good question whatthe46.

That question is do psychopathic people ever come to know what they are?

Take a look at the body language in this picture.

        • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 13:33

          disgusting.

          • anothertoothpick August 3rd, 2015 at 13:54

Yeah..and I agree with you. But not to those monsters in that photo.

Posting about lynching to make a point about racism isn’t disgusting.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Wilson develops a Zimmerman complex.”

he doesn`t have to cause, he is not a want to be cop, he is still a cop with a very big chip on his bigoted shoulder.

  3. Laura911 August 3rd, 2015 at 12:51

    “Different” from what?

  4. F_cons August 3rd, 2015 at 12:56

Well than goodness we finally hear from the racist, murdering piece of crap. I know I’ve been waiting

  5. whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 12:58

“…what I’m trying to say is, the right culture, the better one to pick from.”” WHAT THE FUCK?! this parasite is such a douche.

  6. Larry Schmitt August 3rd, 2015 at 13:52

No “mixing pot.” So he can’t order chili. Too bad for him, more for the rest of us.

    • Bunya August 3rd, 2015 at 14:18

I thought he meant mixing “pot”, as in mixing Maui wowee with Acapulco gold. If that’s the case, I’d like to know where these restaurants are so that I may patronize them.

      • Larry Schmitt August 3rd, 2015 at 15:23

I thought that for a second too, then I realized he meant “melting pot.”

        • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 21:54

i’m a light skinned black woman, my melting pot is gumbo. the best of everything. he’d hate me for sure.

      • Pilotshark August 3rd, 2015 at 15:38

Hell just tell me where i can get some Acapulco gold :-)..

that would be some WOWEE :-)

not that i mmmm well you know inhale, i just like the way it looked in the four finger baggie.

        • bpollen August 3rd, 2015 at 15:40

well cocaine don`t smell itself :-)

  7. crc3 August 3rd, 2015 at 14:02

Wilson’s racist beliefs come through loud and clear. Anyone who buys his excuses for murdering MB should reexamine their own lives with some deep soul searching.

News for Wilson: EVERY RACE has different cultures. Get a clue or a million dumb ass…

  8. Bunya August 3rd, 2015 at 14:33

What he means is white culture is the right culture – but he’s not racist.
And he doesn’t like a “mixing pot”. He prefers a “whites only” restaurant – but he’s not racist. Nope. Not him. Nosiree.

    • Chinese Democracy August 4th, 2015 at 16:47

he bumped his head woke up and thinks its 1950

  9. blockpasser August 3rd, 2015 at 14:51

“racial overtones” lol. If you hippies can’t tell the difference between race baiters like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, Baltimore rioters and normal people like Condi Rice or Ben Carson, you may be the ones practicing racism.

    • Laura911 August 3rd, 2015 at 15:10

      “normal people like… Ben Carson”.

      Wow.

    • Larry Schmitt August 3rd, 2015 at 15:26

The quotation on your avatar makes no sense. How does free speech prevent communists from stealing (I didn’t realize that was the biggest problem with communists) and when did sodomy between consenting adults become illegal? And if Carson is your ideal of “normal people” you got some big problems.

    • dewired4u August 3rd, 2015 at 15:37

From your post we know that you are a bitter old white male full of hate and that you are living in the past. You fail to mention the unarmed blacks who were killed by white cops but the saddest part is that think Carson is normal.

      • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 17:08

well, carson is also super fk’n stupid, so in his world, he is normal.

    • bpollen August 3rd, 2015 at 15:38

See, blackpasser, racists can’t recognize racism in other’s statements. Thank you for providing a fine and explicit example of that in action.

Wilson: “They’re so wrapped up in a different culture than—what I’m trying to say is, the right culture, the better one to pick from.”

In other words, Darren Wilson IS both a race-baiter and a race pimp.

But at least he wasn’t so inartful as to say “blah people” or something similar.

    • Larry Schmitt August 3rd, 2015 at 15:42

But I bet he was thinking it.

    • greenfloyd August 4th, 2015 at 02:03

Wilson probably has racist thoughts and opinions, however it’s hard to buy your “race-baiter” claim for the man now, along with his family, living in hidding under constant death threats.

      • whatthe46 August 4th, 2015 at 08:58

and whose fault is that? he decided to murder a young man. and you’re a fricken idiot.

  14. majii August 3rd, 2015 at 17:26

Wilson is an unrepentant racist because although he has had little/no contact with members of other races, he feels he’s justified in critiquing their lifestyles. I’m a retired teacher who experienced many instances of kids from every racial group disrespecting their parents in front of others. I will never forget the day I was on my planning period when I received a call to come to the office. When I got there, a parent was on the phone. She asked me to speak with her kid because the student respected me more than her own parents, and she thought that her child would probably listen to what I said to her. I’m black, her parents are white. I was more than willing to help them because they were parents who were reaching out to someone they thought could help them with the problems they were having with their kid. I didn’t think of the situation in terms of race. I wanted all of my students to grow up to be productive, well-adjusted members of society. Contrary to what Wilson believes, I never met one parent in any racial group who didn’t want the best for their kid. Not one. Kids will act out and sometimes defy their parents, but it doesn’t mean that the parents and kids are from “a totally different culture.” It means that the family is having problems, just like many other families.

  15. Darksnark August 3rd, 2015 at 17:56

Nice to see that Darren Wilson has had his own Cliven Bundy-type moment where he publicly revealed himself to be an ass-hat racist who avoids “mixing pot” places that black folks are actually allowed to set foot in.

I hope he’s happy sponging off the other douchebag bigots out there who are still willing to send him money, because no legitimate employer will ever take a chance by hiring the guy to do anything….

  16. tracey marie August 3rd, 2015 at 20:26

we all knew he killed the man because of race, this is nothing new.

I’m not so certain that great minds happen to think “Duh.”

  17. Elliot J. Stamler August 3rd, 2015 at 21:35

On the Ferguson matter, Darren Wilson was in the right and Michael Brown was in the wrong. The Grand Jury decided that and their decision is both legally and morally justified. Michael Brown was a hulking nasty black hoodlum who had had run-ins with the law, who had just robbed a storekeeper and was attempting to seize Wilson’s gun which had he obtained it he’d have used to murder Wilson.

A lot of you people are the leftist, anti-police, pro-criminal softheaded pseudo-liberals for whom no black can be wrong and no white be right. I have commented before that I am strongly opposed to genuine police brutality or racist misconduct. I am also opposed to both black racists and their disgusting white sympathizers who follow the Al Sharpton line. Those of you who fit that description are exactly the kind of people who give aid and comfort to the extreme right wing. And while I know I shall know get your denunciations and libels I say you can go and kiss Al Sharpton’s rear e-d.

    • whatthe46 August 3rd, 2015 at 21:41

so i guess you agree with the O.J. Simpson jury. INNOCENT!

      • TuMadre, Ph.D August 4th, 2015 at 01:15

It was a little before my time (I was still in Grade school), but it seems pretty obvious that either OJ was innocent, or the police tried to introduce false evidence to make the conviction easier (such as the gloves), and botched it so badly that they actually created reasonable doubt. Whether he was innocent or the police tried to manipulate things, the ruling was just based on the evidence used.

        • whatthe46 August 4th, 2015 at 01:35

hahahahahahahhaha!!!!!! innocent or the police tired to introduce flase evidence… so wait. let me get this straight. you believe OJ was guilty and that the police botched lying? in that case, why would you believe wilson and the d.a. OJ had a trial, wilson did not. the DA botched the trial from the get go. he didn’t even want to go based on bias. his father was killed by a black guy and he had every reason to hate black people. are you kidding me? wilson was guilty.

          • TuMadre, Ph.D August 4th, 2015 at 02:24

I believe that IF he was guilty, the police botched the case by introducing false evidence that would have exonerated him, such as the gloves. As I said before, I am not overly familiar with the case. I’m under 30 years old, and I believe I was under 10 when the trial was taking place. The details of the case were not something that captured my child-like mind at the time.

As for Wilson being guilty, people like you remind me of this video:

  20. greenfloyd August 4th, 2015 at 00:47

I’ve only read the first part of the very long New Yorker article. From what I’ve read so far, it appears Darren Wilson realized he had difficulty interacting with black people and sought guidance from a well seasoned officer who, Wilson notes, seemed to have that respect and trust. The older cop, who is white and gay, took Wilson under his wing and praised the young officer, “Darren was probably the best officer that I’ve ever trained—just by his willingness to learn.”

Unfortunately both men labor under a thoroughly corrupt system; at every level of govt. Cops become pawns by “just doing their job” if enforcing bad laws or issuing bogus tickets to support the local political establishment.

Today Michael Brown (RIP) and former police officer Darren Wilson are death-mask figures in a form of ritualized killing. Everyday, somewhere in America there is a deadly citizen police encounter; a Michael Brown killed and his cop killer, a Darren Wilson. On some days Wilson is killed and Brown is eventually executed. Other days Brown is white and Wilson black. Either way black Brown is dead. On most days, it’s Michael Brown killing Michael Brown. And so there is that.

    • whatthe46 August 4th, 2015 at 02:22

and you’re afraid of ISIS. and you think crime is only about black on black. and you think only terrible crime is when minorities commit it, and you think gun violence is the worst of all crimes. and, again it’s when minorities are involved. got news for ya. violent crimes, don’t come in the colors you think. and ISIS hasn’t cut off anyones head in this country. however: Man Who Met Wife at Mental Health Facility ‘Beheads Her and Their Two Dogs’, Found Naked and Missing an Eye. just sayin’ STOP WITH THE FK’N STEROTYPING B.S. p.s. they are white.

      • TuMadre, Ph.D August 4th, 2015 at 03:04

I didn’t read anywhere where he said anything like that. That said, when the majority of crime in this country is black on black, and I think that it’s rather sad that people want to completely ignore those crimes and shine a spotlight on a minority.

They are both bad, don’t get me wrong, but when someone is killing someone else, the last thing one should be focusing on is their race. The first thing they should be focusing on is finding out the reason(s) for the killing. Darren Wilson was pronounced guilty by the public before any evidence was released. Such a thing reminds me of the lynch mob of yesteryear. A lynch mob is a horrible thing, regardless of the race of the mob, or of the race of the lynched.

are you so blind as to think most crime is bl on bl? Just consider walmart.

Forgive me, I misspoke. While I would not state that they are the majority of all crime, they most certainly have disproportionate amounts of murder, when compared to their population percentage. According to the latest reports of the US Census, blacks make up around 12.6% of the population. According to the latest reports from the Bureau of Justice Statistics, blacks committed 52% of murders from 1980 to 2008. Whites, making up a much larger percentage of the population (roughly 63.7%), were responsible for 45 percent of the murders. The offending rates of blacks were 7 times higher than blacks in comparison to whites, and the victimization rate was six times higher than whites.

Finally, 94 percent of black victims were killed by blacks, and 84 percent of white victims were killed by whites.

These are statistics. The sources are cited, so that you may research these facts for yourself. You can decide what you want based on the numbers presented.

I hope some day Wilson will redeem himself. He could be a powerful advocate for police reform… he understandably wants to move on, but it always comes back to Michael Brown. The New Yorker’s Jake Halpern paints a picture of a haunted, almost broken man.

          • TuMadre, Ph.D August 4th, 2015 at 05:16

Can you blame him? Almost every piece of evidence (including testimony from witnesses that do not want to be named out of fear of reprisal) show that he was defending himself from a man who was charging him, and had reached for and discharged the Wilson’s gun from inside the car (evidenced by the stipling being a solid, thick dot, rather than spatter). A man with a family was attacked, and was forced to defend himself, and he was demonized for it by something closely resembling a lynch mob.

Even today, on this site, which is not a site full of stupid people, the demonization continues. I pity the man. Will he ever feel like he is completely safe from unjust reprisal?

            • allison1050 August 4th, 2015 at 06:28

Actually not so oh brilliant doctor of nothing, actual witness testimony Was Not Allowed to be presented to the grand jury by the DA FYI. I don’t understand why you aren’t aware of this fact unless you only listen to Fox. It was widely discussed everywhere else about the withholding of witness testimony and that the white cow that was allowed to testify was a proven liar and proven racist. Are you also not aware that a national discussion took place by legal scholars and practicing attorneys to change the grand jury system because of what this DA did and didn’t present? Change that dial hon if you really want to know and broaden your reading material.

              • TuMadre, Ph.D August 4th, 2015 at 06:55

Firstly, I’m not a hon. Secondly, you have no idea whether I have a Ph.D or not. For all you know, I have a Ph.D in Queer Musicology. I don’t understand why so many people put such importance on a title in a completely anonymous user ID. Instead, one should pay attention to what is said.

And finally, have you bothered to research how many “Witnesses” were later found out to be false, including Brown’s friend (who was most definitely there, and later admitted to lying)? Some “witnesses” were blocks away when these events were going down.

Feel free to google the facts, as my shift is over, and I’m going home.

            • greenfloyd August 4th, 2015 at 23:37

I don’t feel pity for Darren Wilson, he made a conscious decision to go into law enforcement and to work in high crime areas because he thought if he made a lot of arrests and wrote a lot of tickets it would advance his career. In Ferguson, and most other places, that’s the way the system works. Fundamental New Jim Crow, economic and social apartheid.

I could excuse a rookie cop, but Wilson had more than enough experience to know better. Before Ferguson, he worked in one nearby St. Louis city (Jennings?) where the feds had to step in and eventually fired the whole police department because it was so corrupt and abusive. As I recall Wilson worked there for about two years, yet had moved on when the hammer finally fell on the heads of those nasty bald heads and swastika tattoos.

              • TuMadre, Ph.D August 5th, 2015 at 00:47

Yes, because taking advantage of a system that is inherently flawed is worth having your entire life ruined, right? If you aren’t going to give someone a reason to want to go into dangerous neighborhoods, then nobody is going to do it, and it’s going to fall into anarchy. It’s not worth risking your life to protect a group of strangers that hate you when you can do the same thing in a safer part of town.

At some point in time, the fault falls onto the people, not the system.

                • whatthe46 August 5th, 2015 at 00:52

                  you are full of shit!

                  • TuMadre, Ph.D August 5th, 2015 at 01:05

Is this coming from someone who works as a uniformed police officer in a dangerous part of town, and does so out of the unselfish goodness in his/her heart?

                • greenfloyd August 5th, 2015 at 04:11

I’m not so sure Darren Wilson’s life is ruined. I see at least one book deal in his future, this New Yorker interview will boost his stock. As I suggested, he could be a powerful advocate for police reform having become a casualty of the present system.

On the other hand, Wilson may be a total dolt and could go over the edge, most likely commit suicide or slowly slip away behind a bottle as his family crumbles around him. Not for killing Michael Brown, but because he still wants to be a cop. The only thing he thinks he’s been any good at. Wilson has a good point, if we truly believe in innocent until proven guilty, in a court of law.

                  • TuMadre, Ph.D August 5th, 2015 at 04:38

I enjoy speaking with you. Even when we are opposed in views (it seems we are rarely PERFECTLY aligned), we’re both willing to meet each other halfway, and at least make the attempt to understand why our views are different.

This is slightly off-subject, but would you mind giving this a read and giving me your thoughts on it? This was placed up on a different website, and while a lot of this (not all) seems true to me, I would be interested to see what someone on the other side of the fence thinks. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/4a737bf0cba0a9fc5326fb8e6c60876113c08b1f5206d47d4b2bc63cc48081b7.png

It’s long and I’m behind in my reading as it is… please pare it down to one thing… and let’s go from there.

          • TuMadre, Ph.D August 4th, 2015 at 06:44

Pretty sure you can find the source of my claim below.

I’ll repeat it in case you can’t see it (Disqus is funny like that sometimes; I’m not intending to insult your intelligence):

“Forgive me, I misspoke. While I would not state that they are the

Edit: I initially said, “Murder.” This is is
factually incorrect, as Homicide, while including murder, is not limited
to strictly murder. Therefore, I have edited my statements and
            apologize.”

            • allison1050 August 4th, 2015 at 07:12

FBI’s website dear and or the CDC’s we’ll continue to wait for you.

              • TuMadre, Ph.D August 4th, 2015 at 07:23

Didn’t think I would get a response this quick (still have 15 min left) The FBI is more up to date, but reporting their finding is… suspicious to say the least, which is why I omitted them. If you want them, here you go (please keep in mind that blacks make up around 13% of the population):

In 2013, the FBI has black criminals carrying out 38 per cent of murders, compared to 31.1 per cent for whites. The offender’s race was “unknown” in 29.1 per cent of cases (this is the problem I had with their statistics).

I’ll just jump the gun for you, and go into their statistics for violent crime in a more general sense. Over the last three years of data, 38.5 per cent of people arrested for murder, manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault were black.

I’m not aware of any CDC reporting. If there are any, feel free to report it. But know that while I will not completely discredit them, the problems with their “1 in 4/5” rape statistics discredit them severely (evidence included in video, around 2 minute mark. Feel free to research Christina Hoff Sommers for credentials). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TR_YuDFIFI

I’ve already done the legwork for you. I’ve told you why I’m not putting much weight in the CDC, and provided a source from a life-long feminist leader to confirm why I’m not putting weight in them.

If you want to take over for the last citation, go ahead. I’ve provided more than enough evidence to support my claim, and even went and provided the statistics for one of the sources you requested.

I have. I gave you the stats. I’ll repeat it again for you:

“…but when someone is killing someone else, the last thing one should be focusing on is their race.” yet you do it all the damn time. ” Darren Wilson was pronounced guilty by the public before any evidence was released.” all the evidence wasn’t released. there was no trial and the DA saw to that. get your facts straight.

      • greenfloyd August 4th, 2015 at 03:07

Today, black Michael Brown killed white Darren Wilson. Violent crime always comes in red.
