Ted Cruz: Hillary ‘Embodies The Culture Of Corruption’; Stands By Calling McConnell A ‘Liar’

Posted by | July 31, 2015 15:00 | Filed under: Politics Radio Interviews

Texas Senator Ted Cruz was on my radio show Thursday night telling me he believes he’ll be the Republican nominee. We discussed a wide range of issues, including why he called Mitch McConnell a liar on the Senate floor, and if his fathers’s controversial statements every embarrass him. Asked about his assessment of his likely opponent, should he get the nomination, he said that Hillary Clinton “embodies the culture of corruption.”

COLMES:  You called Mitch McConnell a liar for not making a deal for a vote on the Ex-Im bank so is that hypocritical? Brit Hume took to Twitter to refer to you as hypocritical for that.

SEN. CRUZ: Well you’re right, that charge was leveled at me. I am a strong believer in Ronald Reagan’s eleventh commandment. Now what does that mean, that means is that you don’t engage in personal attacks or ad hominems at other Republicans, or for that matter, in my time in the Senate to the very best of my ability I have not engaged in personal attacks or ad hominems on any Senator, Republican or Democrat. What it doesn’t mean however you can’t agree on substance, what it doesn’t mean is you should refrain from speaking the truth. So for example on the battle that occurred on the Senate floor this week, I rose and gave an unusual floor speech in which I describe the commitment that Mitch McConnell, leader of my party,  had made to me and in front of every other Republican Senator that there was no deal to extend the Export- Import bank, a quintessential example of corporate welfare, and that was a promise he made to me in front of every other Republican Senator at our lunch and then his conduct on the Senate floor demonstrated that that promise was simply false…

COLMES: A quick thumbnail on Hillary Clinton, assuming she is the person you would face if you were the nominee. What’s your take on her?

SEN. CRUZ: I believe the path to victory for Republicans in 2016 is a populist campaign of hard working men and women across this country against the bipartisan corruption of Washington DC and I think Hillary Clinton embodies the corruption of Washington DC that keeps growing. The lobbyist and special interest at the expense of the school teacher, at the expense of the truck driver, at the expense of the steel worker, at the expense of all the men and women across this country are finding it harder and harder and harder to achieve the America dream.

COLMES: Is she corrupt?

SEN. CRUZ: I think she is a creature of Washington. Hillary and Bill Clinton have made hundreds of millions of dollars exploiting their government service and I do not believe she understands the single mom waiting tables the truck driver struggling to make ends meet.

Cruz is just mad that he won’t be getting the Republican nomination, let alone become President of the United States.

Not to worry. There is always a need for restroom attendants. He’ll get a job some where. Of coarse Larry Craig was barred from the Restroom Attendants Union.

Funny, in the three years or so since the attack, in spite of TWO frickin’ Republican “fact-finding” committees, NOT A SINGLE CRIME HAS BEEN EXPOSED!

Like Issa and Gowdy, you won’t let facts get in the way of your histrionics…

Also convicted was the first sitting cabinet member Interior Secretary (R) Gail Norton, W’s 2nd in command at CIA was also convicted of “Bribery” in the Abramoff scandal Convictions that also forced resignations from GOP Speaker (R Tx) Tom DeLay, (R Oh) Bob Ney, Rep (R Ca) Randy Duke Cunningham, etc http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/custom/2005/12/23/CU2005122300939.html ‘Republicans haven’t told the truth yet during the entire 21st century’-Cruz unplugged.

And the 19th and 20th centuries too going back to the time of the Civil War, referred to back then as the ” Age of Shoddy. ”

    • The Original Just Me July 31st, 2015 at 21:36

Ronald ” GOD ” Reagan had the most investigated, indicted, charged, and convicted administration in History.

  6. Warman1138 July 31st, 2015 at 19:15

Cruz must have a phobia over looking in mirrors and should seek help.

    • The Original Just Me July 31st, 2015 at 21:32

I don’t know about the mirrors thing. His hair is greased down and dyed exactly perfect and he would need a mirror for that.

  7. amersham46 July 31st, 2015 at 19:38

Ted ,, beat your drum louder ,,, nobody can hear you

    • The Original Just Me July 31st, 2015 at 21:30

It’s not his drum that he is beating.
