Chris Christie says he’d enforce federal laws to stop marijuana use in places where it’s now legal.

“Marijuana is against the law in the states and it should be enforced in all 50 states,” the New Jersey governor said on “Fox and Friends” Wednesday morning. “That’s the law and the Christie administration will support it.”

Christie’s comments came a day after he discussed marijuana enforcement at a town hall in Newport, New Hampshire.

“If you’re getting high in Colorado today, enjoy it,” Christie warned. “As of January 2017, I will enforce the federal laws.”

But Cliven Bundy will still be allowed to break the law?

  2. Bluedog65 July 29th, 2015 at 15:17

As of January 2017, his fat a$$ will still be sitting in NJ where the primary voters sent him, months earlier. He is deluding himself if he thinks he has even the slightest chance to be POTUS.

    • Robert Kennedy July 29th, 2015 at 23:08

Maybe the way he got elected was that NJ is reefer central and everyone was too stoned to notice who they were voting for. His approval rating there is now in George W territory.

All these presidential wannabes have some inflated idea of a set of magical powers the president has. “I’m gonna do this when I become president.” “This is gonna be illegal when I’m president.” It’s as if they were the kind of president they accuse Obama of being: a king or emperor. First, none of them is going to be president, and second, the office doesn’t come with a magic wand that allows the holder to do or undo anything he wants. There are three branches of government, guys, and none of them can do anything without the other two. So shut up already.

    • Dont Ask July 29th, 2015 at 16:04

Newsflash: Enforcing the federal laws and upholding the Constitution is the responsibility of the DOJ and the POTUS. Obama did not seem to learn that in any of schooling, nor did he pay attention to the oath at his swearing in ceremony….either time.

Maybe you could resend the memo to him….

      • tracey marie July 29th, 2015 at 16:13

when were either broken by the President, specifically and no brietbart, wnd and the rest of the conspiracy and liar spots.

Are you familiar with immigration law? It can only be changed by Congress. Capeesh?

          • tracey marie July 29th, 2015 at 16:25

Yes I am, are you. Saying that Felons before kids to be deported is wise.

          • tracey marie July 29th, 2015 at 16:27

what is capeesh…oh you mean capire or capice, more dumbass shit from you

          • illinoisboy1977 July 29th, 2015 at 16:34

            I believe, it’s spelled “capisce”.

            • Dont Ask July 29th, 2015 at 18:02

Multiple spellings Dude, check out my link below to Oxford dictionaries….

      • arc99 July 29th, 2015 at 16:14

Or maybe you could stop parroting lame right wing talking points, and educate yourself on the concept of prosecutorial discretion which has been commonplace in this country at all levels of government for generations.

Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation did not wait for Congress. It was an executive order. Or are you telling us that Lincoln did not “seem” to learn about our system of government?

As the saying goes, the way the world “seems” to you, is your problem, and no one else’s.

        • Dont Ask July 29th, 2015 at 16:22

Well, there you go…..the liberal “free pass” for Constitutional violations.

Let me ask, were you one of the one’s screeching for Bush and Cheney to be tried for war crimes? Prosecutorial discretion Dude…..

          • arc99 July 29th, 2015 at 16:37

and there you go, the perennial right wing tendency to completely miss the point.

it is not a violation of the Constitution for the executive branch of government to prioritize their prosecution efforts. it is the way our government has operated for most of our lifetimes.

and please do not call me ‘Dude’..

          • arc99 July 29th, 2015 at 16:40

            http://law.jrank.org/pages/1870/Prosecution-Prosecutorial-Discretion.html

The term “prosecutorial discretion” refers to the fact that under American law, government prosecuting attorneys have nearly absolute and unreviewable power to choose whether or not to bring criminal charges, and what charges to bring, in cases where the evidence would justify charges. This authority provides the essential underpinning to the prevailing practice of plea bargaining, and guarantees that American prosecutors are among the most powerful of public officials. It also provides a significant opportunity for leniency and mercy in a system that is frequently marked by broad and harsh criminal laws, and, increasingly in the last decades of the twentieth century, by legislative limitations on judges’ sentencing discretion.

            • Larry Schmitt July 29th, 2015 at 16:42

And this discretion crosses party lines all the time.

              • arc99 July 29th, 2015 at 16:43

                precisely.

but according to some, it is a violation of the Constitution only when a President they dislike exercises that authority.

          • F_cons July 29th, 2015 at 17:45

You equate prosecutorial discretion for non violent law breaking to the shit the devils from hell, Bush and Cheny, who lied us into a war, that killed how many hundreds of thousands of innocent people? Could you spew any more ignorant shit? If I continued to yell at you I would be banned you ……

            • Dont Ask July 29th, 2015 at 18:00

Ignorant are those who can’t communicate without profanity. Let me know when you’re ready to have a big boy, or girl, discussion.

Besides your facts being wrong, you would also benefit from some grammar and spelling lessons.

              • F_cons July 29th, 2015 at 18:17

Little idiot child, I don’t want to attempt to damage my brain enough to converse with you, don’t bother to send your ignorant hate again

              • BigDumbWhiteGuy July 29th, 2015 at 20:01

Yes, we know Bush and Cheney are ignorant.

Which “Constitutional violations”? The unamed, imaginary ones that your talking point masters have failed to come up with?

“As President, I will waste money on the inefficient and senseless ‘drug war’, instead of devoting resources to problems like national security, immigration enforcement, and violent crime”.

could you do something about the roads too?

“If you’re getting high in Colorado today, enjoy it,” Christie warned. “As of January 2017, I will enforce the federal laws.”

I doubt very seriously whether folks who are getting high in Colorado today will enjoy it any less should Christie (har har har) become (he he he) President. (I tried, but I couldn’t say it with a straight face)

You would undoubtedly succeed in ruining some folks lives by giving them a record & sticking them in a cage, however. Not sure why you would want to do that, but then some folks get off by slowly killing a lion over a two day period then beheading it and leaving its body to rot in the sun.

    Republicans are a kooky bunch.

The whole country ,,,,, you can’t even keep New Jersey in line

  12. Robert Kennedy July 29th, 2015 at 20:19

Of course Christie is against it. Can you imagine the moose stampede he would cause if he got the munchies?

  13. Warman1138 July 29th, 2015 at 20:34

I wonder how much the mob and pharmaceutical’s are shelling out to candidates like Christie for an anti weed stand. Kind of hard to make money off of it if it’s growing everywhere for free.

    • rg9rts July 30th, 2015 at 07:54

Tobacco industry that wants to get their fields operational

      • Warman1138 July 30th, 2015 at 09:08

Not only that but the industrial applications are far greater. Paper, cloth, other fiber related products and chemical as well, all renewable including possible synthesis of new materials.
