McConnell Attaches Obamacare Repeal To Highway Bill

Posted by | July 25, 2015 08:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Yeah, this will fly.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has proposed repealing Obamacare as part of the long-term highway bill currently being considered in the upper chamber.

McConnell’s office said Friday that the Senate would vote Sunday on an amendment to the highway legislation that would repeal the Affordable Care Act. The initial vote, which would cap debate on the repeal amendment, would need 60 votes. It seems unlikely to get it—six Democrats would have to join the Republicans in effectively endorsing repeal.

“We’d love that,” said Don Stewart, McConnell’s spokesman, in an email. “I don’t know if six [Democrats] would vote for repeal, but we’ll see.”

      • Suzanne McFly July 25th, 2015 at 10:27

        And much cuter

        • The Original Just Me July 25th, 2015 at 14:21

More than likely the Turtle is much smarter too.

That is assumed when the bar is that low

He would never be able to get a girl friend with that stupid looking face. Did God run out of chins when he designed Mitch ?

If the rumors are true he doesn’t want one anyway.

        • The Original Just Me July 26th, 2015 at 12:09

Awe , rumors are a dime a dozen but I would pay a dollar to see just how close his friendship is with Larry Craig of Idaho.

        • StoneyCurtisll July 25th, 2015 at 14:48

That is where he carries his campaign donations~!
Or it’s just a display of inflated self worth..

They still haven’t learned the basic fault from the previous 50+ attempts to repeal the ACA: One, the president will veto any bill with a repeal attached, and they don’t have anything like the necessary votes to overcome a veto. Two, the only way a repeal begins to make sense is if there is something to take its place. If we ordinary citizens can see that, why can’t members of the so-called “greatest deliberative body in the world (time to come up with a new line) see it?

What a waste of time and taxpayer money. The GOPer’s must be so proud of themselves.

    • F_cons July 25th, 2015 at 09:12

Other than try to stop anything and everything supported by Obama, all they do is waste taxpayer time and money, while hating government though fighting tooth and nail to get in, remain in and profit off it forever

    • Red Mann July 25th, 2015 at 16:38

But, but, it’s the Republicans that are the party of fiscal and personal responsibility, they would never, never, ever do anything to waste taxpayer’s money or hurt anyone in the country. Just ask them and they tell you all about it.

    Sneaky bastards!

    • The Original Just Me July 25th, 2015 at 14:17

No, this Bastard McConnell did this right out in the open just like he was Proud of it.

This is the reason many people don’t understand or appreciate the political process. A straight up or down vote on an issue is what people want, however the amendment process muddies that.

This causes much time to be spent debating, negotiating and cajoling instead of getting things done.

    Here’s hoping it fails miserably.

    • The Original Just Me July 25th, 2015 at 14:16

Oh it might not fail in the Senate vote but sure as Hell won’t get past the President’s desk.

  7. Mike July 25th, 2015 at 10:49

I said we weren’t done with repealing OCare yet….I’m thinking 2, maybe 3 more votes….

    • The Original Just Me July 25th, 2015 at 14:15

Are you talking President Votes as in 8 to 12 years ?

  8. labman57 July 25th, 2015 at 11:23

McConnell has the conscience of sadistic assailant who hands you a knife while pointing a gun at your parents and declares:
“I’ll spare your mother if you stab your father.”

    • The Original Just Me July 25th, 2015 at 14:13

Then he would shoot you and your mother.

  9. eyelashviper July 25th, 2015 at 11:57

Mitch is just trying to get Teddie Cruz to love him again.

  10. fahvel July 25th, 2015 at 12:58

this creep is lower than the dog shit on the sole of my shoe.

  11. The Original Just Me July 25th, 2015 at 14:11

Ya know, the Right Wing’s Nuts always tried everything and everyway to say Harry Reed was sssooooo bad. With this Clown in charge the Left can just sit back and Laugh Hysterically at McConnell. This man does such a good job of making a laughing stock out of himself that nobody can touch his level of success in Laugh Ability. How Damn Much of OUR TAX money is this ***********going to waste on this totally stupid endeavor ? He needs to be wrapped up on a roll and hung on the bathroom wall near the toilet.

  12. StoneyCurtisll July 25th, 2015 at 14:36

Republicans would hold back the cure for all cancers, if they couldn’t get The Affordable care Act repealed.
They make me want to vomit.

  13. Warman1138 July 25th, 2015 at 14:41

If the legislation fails or gets a veto, rest assured that the president or democrats will be blamed for the highways and the repeal to the ACA will only be mentioned when the GOP campaigns.

    • StoneyCurtisll July 25th, 2015 at 14:53

      You are exactly right~!
“Obama vetoed the highway bill denying 1,000’s of people jobs and safe roads”…

We should go to work on political campaigns..(except I like to sleep well at night)

  14. liberalMD July 25th, 2015 at 17:32

The only thing Mitch McConnell will be remembered in for in ten years will be the repeal of the Affordable Care Act….well, two, if you count the great imitation he does of a retarded Ninja turtle. A fifty percent success rate in politics is not that bad.

  15. The Original Just Me July 26th, 2015 at 12:07

Ya just gotta keep an eye out for the dog bombs.

  16. amersham46 July 26th, 2015 at 22:59
