Scott Walker: God Wants Me To Run

Posted by | July 13, 2015 22:00 | Filed under: Politics Religion

Scott Walker says it’s “God’s plan” for him to run.

Walker, who announced his presidential bid on Twitter this morning and will have a launch event later today in Waukesha, has sent an email to activists declaring that his presidential run “is God’s plan for me…

“My relationship with God drives every major decision in my life,” starts the note, which is clearly designed to appeal to Religious Right voters who make up a major part of the GOP base vote, particularly in the early primary states Iowa and South Carolina.

“Our country is at a crossroads and we need a proven conservative leader who is not afraid to fight for what is right — even when it’s not politically expedient,” Walker says. “My decisions are guided by my relationship with God — not by what might win me a few votes.”

Quite a bit of arrogance there and another claim to know ”the mind of God”.

  2. jasperjava July 13th, 2015 at 22:09

The fact that he hears voices in his head should be an automatic disqualification.

  3. craig7120 July 13th, 2015 at 22:11

he does have skin of bronze and hair of wool…according to their bible.

        • Tommie July 13th, 2015 at 23:04

          That is true.

        • whatthe46 July 14th, 2015 at 00:05

‘bronze’ much like mine, especially when i tan. hair of wool, especially when i don’t perm. and by the way, it’s really curly and soft.

      • whatthe46 July 14th, 2015 at 00:03

ah Tommie, he’s not white, he doesn’t have blonde hair, and he surely does not have blue eyes.

Is that what David and Charles told you to say Scooter?

  6. Bunya July 13th, 2015 at 22:21

I don’t trust anybody who hears voices in his head. The last guy who had that problem invaded the wrong country, and made the U.S. pariahs in the middle east.

  7. Anomaly 100 July 13th, 2015 at 22:31

Psst! That’s not God, ya’ big dummy. That’s the other guy.

  8. minidriver July 13th, 2015 at 22:39

I hear God makes a mean batch of kettle corn to enjoy after messing with politicians minds, “telling” them to run for office.

  9. Hirightnow July 13th, 2015 at 22:41

Guess God likes a good joke as well as the next guy…

  10. Tommie July 13th, 2015 at 22:43

Yeah, God wants you to run, run away so no one has to hear your crap!

  11. jybarz July 13th, 2015 at 22:48

Him and the other GOP presidential aspiring idiots are making God look like He is giving false promises and pretense.
Maybe God should send them a big ‘NO WAY’ message in the form of a direct lightning hit.

    • whatthe46 July 14th, 2015 at 00:02

no no no… let them keep sayin’ it and losing. get it?

    • fahvel July 14th, 2015 at 03:33

      god’s having a blast – at’s all.

  12. Obewon July 13th, 2015 at 22:57

So wait. Lets recap last seasons losers in 2012~ who each claimed “God told me to run” for President in 2012. Was there an imaginary POTUS Perry elected? Nope. Perhaps a POTUS Bachmann, or Romney? Nope.

So how much did Scott pay consultants for this ‘guaranteed to fail’ advice? Santorum, Gingrich, et al said they also imagined Walker’s Gullible Old People delusion too!

      Our NEW troll

      • DJANGO July 14th, 2015 at 11:37

Announcing you’re coming out o the closet? Quaint, yet not surprising.

    • Roctuna July 14th, 2015 at 07:45

That’s a better reason than Walker’s delusional lies.

      • DJANGO July 14th, 2015 at 11:43

Either way, it’s lies from polluticians on both sides.

        • tracey marie July 14th, 2015 at 12:02

nope, your ignorance and lies show what you are.

          • DJANGO July 14th, 2015 at 13:35

Hmm, the Poster Child for Ignorance responds to my post. How quaint.

  15. fahvel July 14th, 2015 at 03:31

good ole god: set the ahole up as an aspirant and then let him hit the floor face first when the run is over – hitting the floor miles before the finish line – what a collection of idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. labman57 July 14th, 2015 at 03:52

In recent years, a number of socially conservative politicians have publicly declared that their political aspirations were the result of “speaking with God”, some even going so far as to insist that their election campaigns were “God’s will”.

Santorum, Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Gingrich, Palin, … and Romney — all had cited some form of covenant with the Lord as a key motivator in their pursuit for higher office, including the 2012 quest for the presidency.

And yet each had his/her campaign for the presidential GOP nominee either never materialize, quickly crash and burn, or in the case of Santorum and Gingrich, gradually founder.

And in Mitt’s case, he fell short in the ultimate test of divine intervention impacting the affairs of the American people in the political arena.

All of which suggests that God does indeed have a sense of humor.
Cruz? Carson? Katich? Huckabee? … Walker? That snickering sound that you hear is not the good Lord laughing WITH you …

    • rg9rts July 14th, 2015 at 06:22

We used to put those loons away for talking to god…and then they could converse with Napoleon

    • AnthonyLook July 14th, 2015 at 20:23

My sentiments exactly, God has a great sense of humor. God is laughing with us, laughing at them.

  17. bpollen July 14th, 2015 at 05:34

Ever think that God might be planning to make a fool outta you, Scott?

  18. rg9rts July 14th, 2015 at 06:21

    No She doesn’t Scotty boy…

  19. Jeffrey Samuels July 14th, 2015 at 08:24

    Dear Scott,
Perhaps you mistranslated God’s message. Substitute ‘flee’ for run and I think you may have a better understanding.

  20. pitman45 July 14th, 2015 at 08:35

God wants me to tell you that he doesn’t like you and told you to run just so you’ll look like the Koch sucker that you are when you lose big time!
