You might think the Chief Justice of a state Supreme Court would have enough decorum and good taste to keep his comments in check. But if you know anything at all about Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, then you know that’s pretty much impossible.

Still smarting over the U.S. Supreme Court’s approval of same-sex marriage nationally, Moore said Sunday to a church group that the Justices had:

If gays getting married “destroys” your marriage… You never really had much to begin with.

    • F_cons July 13th, 2015 at 17:04

His daughter/wife/(mother of his new wife) might disagree

      • OldLefty July 13th, 2015 at 18:17

I know nothing about them, I only know that no one that I know who is secure in THEIR marriage is threatened by others getting the same thing.

Wow, dude is talking to Satan now.

  3. Larry Schmitt July 13th, 2015 at 17:24

I had always heard that this guy god was all-powerful. Now it turns out that 9 old men and women can destroy him just by tossing a few freedoms around. Doesn’t sound like much of a god to me. Guess the non-believers aren’t missing much.

    • Bunya July 13th, 2015 at 17:30

LOL! And all it takes is 9 old geezers to beat Satan. Who knew?

An aside: what’s the difference between the devil and the boogie man?

  5. William July 13th, 2015 at 18:47

Makes sense. The almighty tells people
,to run for president, so conversely the devil talks to judges.

I didn’t know God was married. What does Mrs. God look like?

      • Dwendt44 July 13th, 2015 at 19:24

Mrs god looks a lot like god does. You know how old old old people tend to look alike. Well, god and his wife are REALLY old.
The ancient Hebrews had a goddess at one time, so who knows who killed her off.

But I’ll bet that was before Moses went up the mountain. From then on, it was All God, All the Time.

        She looks God Damn Good.

  6. Mike July 13th, 2015 at 19:13

Let me see if I understand the logic here…
God creates Satan, but now, can’t control him…that would mean Satan is more powerful than your puny weakling of a god.
If I’m gonna worship something I want it to be a supreme being and Judge Moore has proven Satan superior to god. Hail Satan!!!!!!

Thanks for clearing that up Your Honor

This nut job gets crazier by the year.
This country is in no way a theocracy, and same sex marriage has been around for decades this century and goes way way back into antiquity.

Of course, an imaginary deity likely doesn’t care one way or the other.

It has been said that the two main powers of Satan are Knowledge and Understanding.

    • Warman1138 July 13th, 2015 at 21:24

That’s why the church for over a millennium persecuted and sequestered such, keep the masses ignorant to keep them believing.

      • The Original Just Me July 14th, 2015 at 12:22

Yup, It was Galileo that was imprisoned and sentenced to House Arrest for life just or saying the Earth was round and all planets revolved around the Sun. I didn’t know the Catholic Church had powers to imprison people.

What’s so Satan ’bout Peace, Love, and Understanding?

      • The Original Just Me July 14th, 2015 at 12:07

In order to understand todays modern version of Satan and Evil, first you have to understand the New Modern American Version of Christianity. Good Luck with that.

        • bpollen July 14th, 2015 at 16:00

I haven’t even come to terms with the OLD Christianity…

          • The Original Just Me July 14th, 2015 at 21:16

To try and research and study Christianity or any religion is at best difficult. All forms of religion twist, turn, revise, and change according to the wind. But, if you really, really ,want to get confused, try studying the preachers and reformers. That is beyond mind boggling.

I think this Roy Dude is more than a few Prayers short of a Bible.

    • Warman1138 July 13th, 2015 at 21:26

Nah, it’s an old strategy employed by the ”righteous” to control thought and logic.

      • The Original Just Me July 14th, 2015 at 12:12

Thought and Logic, two qualities missing in the Modern American Version of Christianity.

So having rights in this country is so evil, that they refer to Satan as the instigator of the courts ruling! Ha!

  11. bpollen July 14th, 2015 at 06:31

I don’t think it was the cream that rose to the top of the Alabama Supreme Court…

Someone should inform Moore that there is a separation of church and state ….even in Alabama
