Conservatives Call George Takei Worse Than The KKK

When those on the right say something outrageous and progressives call them on it, conservatives complain that the left is engaging in “political correctness” and trying to limit free speech. They start squawking about the First Amendment and attempt to wrap it around them like a warm blanket.

But when a progressive engages in “free speech,” and takes a verbal jab at one of the right’s sacred cows, suddenly the First Amendment is forgotten by conservatives and they are offended.

Here’s a perfect example: Former Star Trek star George Takei, criticized Clarence Thomas’ strange dissent in the same-sex marriage ruling. In that dissent, Thomas used an analogy between same-sex couples and slavery. Takei remarked:

I feel Justice Thomas has abdicated and abandoned his African American heritage by claiming slavery did not strip dignity from human beings. He made a similar remark about the Japanese American internment, of which I am a survivor. A sitting Justice of the Supreme Court ought to know better….READ MORE at  LiberalAmerica.org

Cons are going to con and play victim, especially now since they have lost the social/theocratic war they have been waging.

stop using slavery and discrimination to excuse your bigotry, you are not suppressed or losing your free speech bellowing, we hear you whining.

  2. Larry Schmitt July 3rd, 2015 at 19:24

George Takei has more dignity than Clarence Thomas.

  3. whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 19:25

it links to the wrong article.

  4. Kid "Dyn-o-mite" July 3rd, 2015 at 19:30

    Minorities insulting other minorities…. Lol

I thought liberals were supposed to be tolerant..

    • Larry Schmitt July 3rd, 2015 at 19:33

Being tolerant doesn’t mean you can’t criticize. And sometimes an insult is necessary.

      • Kid "Dyn-o-mite" July 3rd, 2015 at 19:37

        Even a racist one?

        • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 19:51

          what was racist?

          • Kid "Dyn-o-mite" July 3rd, 2015 at 19:58

So can a white guy call a black guy a clown in black face and NOT be labeled a racist?

            • tracey marie July 3rd, 2015 at 20:00

depends, you can’t because you are a racist and proud of it.

              • Kid "Dyn-o-mite" July 3rd, 2015 at 20:01

                Lol not hardly

                • jybarz July 3rd, 2015 at 23:39

Tracey is right and maybe it’s hard for you to accept but you’re wrong!

            • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 20:02

what white guy called him that first off? and explain what was racist. he is a fk’n clown who thinks he’s white with a black face. truth be told.

              • Kid "Dyn-o-mite" July 3rd, 2015 at 20:16

The question is can a/any white guy call a black guy that and NOT be called racist?

                • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 20:29

absolutely! if you’re not a racist.

                • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 20:33

that being said, no racist would say that if a black man was a hater of his own heritage.

                • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 21:00

First off, George Takei experienced racism in the 40s by being sent to the Rohwer War Relocation Center during WWII.

They didn’t send him there because he and his family were white.

Second, given the first point,I think he’s qualified to speak his mind on the subject nof discrimination, up to and including using a term that really ISN’T racist when used to describe an African-American voting to treat a set of humans as lesser people, if you think about it beyond the words.

Third, George Takei is openly, unabashedly, unapologetically, and proudly gay…if I had to put up with people saying that I was subhuman, immoral, perverted, sick, etc., because of the way I was born? I might lash out a bit, too.

            • Red Mann July 3rd, 2015 at 23:38

You mean the Asian guy that was locked up in an internment camp that correctly called out Thomas, a black man who has turned his back on blacks and joined up with the white dominated Republican Party?

        • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 19:51

          i’m black and thomas is a house NI**ER! am i a racist?

          • Kid "Dyn-o-mite" July 3rd, 2015 at 20:01

            Intolerant

          • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 21:09

Never would have known that if you hadn’t said it…guess I’ll have to think of you differently now.

            …..
            or not.
            :D

          • jybarz July 3rd, 2015 at 23:32

A much better man than Thomas!

            • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 23:49

              that’s my line of thinking.

        • jasperjava July 3rd, 2015 at 23:24

The real racist is Clarence Thomas, a white supremacist who believes that slavery did not deprive Blacks of their dignity.

    • tracey marie July 3rd, 2015 at 19:40

      thomas thinks he is white

      • spacegod July 4th, 2015 at 00:11

It’s a slippery slope. Soon he’ll be using the little white girls bathroom.

    • Mainah July 3rd, 2015 at 20:27

      Like that’s not getting old.

      • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 20:53

not only is it old. it’s a fk’n stupid thing to even say.

        • Mainah July 3rd, 2015 at 20:57

I know, but try to explain it seems futile.

          • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 21:23

i don’t and can’t tolerate hypocrites like the duggars, but jackasses like this Kid… poster will never understand what it actually means.

            • Mainah July 3rd, 2015 at 21:30

I’m an independent and just trying to explain that even I think that’s an illogical statement and all I get is “LIB!!!” Sigh

              • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 21:43

                Consider the source.
(Don’t turn your back on it, though…ignoring such people is always a mistake.)

    • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 20:51

We get it; hating your hate is hate ( to paraphrase some devilishly handsome and smart poster on another thread).

    • Red Mann July 3rd, 2015 at 23:35

So liberals are supposed to be tolerant of intolerance. So the right gets to spew any vicious lies they like and objecting to them is intolerance? Wow, you got some fuzzy thinking going on there.

  5. GOP - Party of Neanderthals July 3rd, 2015 at 19:30

We all know Affirmative Action Thomas was a chosen House Negro picked by Raygun and is out of his league.

    • Larry Schmitt July 3rd, 2015 at 19:34

And he votes against every AA case before the court. Ironic, isn’t it?

      • GOP - Party of Neanderthals July 3rd, 2015 at 19:57

That what makes AA Ben Carson such a hypocrite.

  6. Larry Schmitt July 3rd, 2015 at 19:31

According to those on Twitter, he’s a racist merely for criticizing a black justice. Huh?

    • Mainah July 3rd, 2015 at 19:35

Yup. He used the term “a clown in black face” and that makes George a racist. But Trump is just telling the truth …. *cough* *gag* … ‘scuse me. Little throw up in my mouth there.

    • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 20:49

GT is just another liberal taker…why, he and his parents were given free room and board by the U.S. government!

      • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 21:25

“(Do I HAVE to use a sarcasm tag here?)” i wish you hadn’t said that. i would have loved to read the post of the ignorant agree with you. that would have been hilarious.

                • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 21:53

Evil serves a function, my friend.
Without darkness, who would look at the light?

                  • whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 22:45

i agree. but, at the same time, i’m gonna be good because i could say some seriously deep $hit!

                    • Hirightnow July 4th, 2015 at 00:03

No, don’t misunderstand: anger isn’t evil.

Anger is a natural reaction to something that goes against what a person believes is the right thing…like how a normal person feels when they hear about child abuse, or rampant greed that affects others adversely.
Anger often spurs people into action.

Evil describes a situation that goes against societal norms, such as a racist shooting, or that same greed, or that same abuse.Bad things, yes…but they draw attention to a wrong. It’s kinda like burning your hand on a stove; you’ll never know that it’s hot until you touch those coils. But after that, you gain a much better understanding of heat, safety, pain, how to listen to your parents, etc.

If you could shoot Hitler in the skull in 1939, would it be evil? You just murdered a man, after all. (And no, you wouldn’t miss and actually cause WWII…he’d be dead.)

Would you stop Dylann Roof, knowing that none of the resulting dialogue and attention to racism would happen, because his murders never happened?
Anger serves its purpose…evil does, too.

(This is by no means a definitive explanation of my thoughts on the matter: I could no more explain to you evil as I see it than you could explain color to a blind person…not unless we got married and talked about it every night for years…and I’m not a person that a gentle soul such as yourself would want to marry.)
I’m probably not doing a good job of this, and I’ll claim the lateness of the hour and those 4 beers I drank as an excuse, but let me finish by saying that Roof wasn’t right to do what he did, but what he did, evil as it was, resulted in good.
Be angry, if you can honestly justify it in your heart.
Recognize evil for what it is; a puppy getting run over that teaches a child to be more attentive and responsible; sad, but sometimes necessary.
                      G’night, WT46…it’s time I slept.
                      Chin up.

I relish Mr Sulu’s Takei honesty vs Republiklown Thomas’ teabagg delusional psychosis.

  9. whatthe46 July 3rd, 2015 at 19:50

so then, the same could/should be true for everyone at faux lies, considering their constant attacks on our president. hell, attacks on all minorities.

Wow. Being compared to a group that truly wishes to create second class citizens.

You can’t make this stuff up.

    • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 21:37

      I’m starting to wonder…

Apparently the RW thinks that you CAN just make this stuff up; just recently I read that a certain Republican candidate thinks that African-Americans are “better served” by the GOP.
(Might have been a typo, possibly he said “better off serving”….)

      • StoneyCurtisll July 4th, 2015 at 16:02

That fugging Rick Perry is something else…

  13. Warman1138 July 3rd, 2015 at 22:04

Clarence and Ginni Thomas have very good friends, very good, rich friends. The American Enterprise Institute, Harlan Crow, The Koch Brothers and The Heritage Foundation, etc. Besides handsome speaking fees ( which seem to be the rage these days ) they have collected tens of thousands of dollars in gifts. ( Ginni got a half mil. to start her own tea party group from Crow ) Harlan Crow donated over a mil. to fund a museum that will include exhibits honoring Thomas. Justice Thomas has argued against campaign transparency laws, consumer rights, worker rights and provided three opinions in an attempt to declare child labor laws unconstitutional. And he has not recused himself from cases involving his benefactors. Over forty years ago Justice Abe Fortas resigned after being exposed receiving tens of thousands of dollars worth of gifts from wealthy and corporate donors. What’s changed since then hmmmmm. ( pulled from an article from ThinkProgress 6-22-2011 ) Dear George Takei is more than justified to take swipes at this disgrace of a Justice.

    • Hirightnow July 3rd, 2015 at 22:07

      Oh, those pesky facts.
Of course, it’s all just supposition, unlike the fact that HILLARY HAD AN EMAIL ACCOUNT AND OBAMA’S FATHER WAS A MUSLIM, but nice try, anyway.

    • Dwendt44 July 6th, 2015 at 01:06

What changed was they figured out that you could run the big money through the little women. That way the judge has ‘clean hands’, even if he gets his share when she cashes the checks.

  14. jybarz July 3rd, 2015 at 23:42

    Big difference.
George is fighting for his rights.
Conservatives and KKK are fighting against his rights.

    >> Conservatives Call George Takei Worse Than The KKK

The conservatives I hang around believe that the gays are bringing total destruction to our country. So, kind makes sense.

    • fahvel July 4th, 2015 at 03:05

and you hang with these low lives for what reason?

republicans are a minority but they have been damaging the country beyond repair.

Oh, so its only achievable though inbreeding, thats a shame.

    • illinoisboy1977 July 4th, 2015 at 09:58

I still get confused, when they start talking about how one man shtupping another is going to cause a nuclear-like catastrophe, from sea to shining sea. I had no idea gay sex could be so powerful. Still not trying it, though! ;-P

      • StoneyCurtisll July 4th, 2015 at 16:00

        It’s the Gaypocalypse..:)

    • CandideThirtythree July 5th, 2015 at 03:39

They have said that about everything and everyone since humans learned to talk. Conservatives hate change of any sort. The definition of conservative is.. Unwilling or unable to change.

The conservatives have held back humanity at every turn, they caused the Dark Ages, their silly taboos are still killing people when modern medicine could easily save them.

      • Dwendt44 July 6th, 2015 at 01:03

The christian preachers of the teens and early twenties though that the radio and later the TV was the work of the devil. That was until they figured out they could get more contributions and more followers by using those ‘evil’ machines.

The original script was about a planet where the bisexual aliens were divided top half and bottom half but not everybody matched halves but the halves didn’t always match.

But that was too racy, even for the 1960s.

    Lets be honest..
They aren’t angry at George for what he said about Thomas…
They are pissed off about about losing the fight to deny gay folks from getting married..

Mr. Takei is an outspoken advocate for gay rights, and since they cant call him a “Fag” in their right wing blogs, they are attacking him with the racist label..
If not for lies and smear champaigns, these haters would have noting the write about.

    • William July 4th, 2015 at 08:20

He spoke in anger and he apologized. Was he wrong to make the “blackface” comment? Yes. Do I believe he’s genuinely remorseful about his choice of words? Yes. Forgiveness is supposed to be a hallmark of the right. I’d like to see a little more of it, please!
