Make marriage illegal in the slowest states! the federal government’s powers should no longer be limited to those enumerated in our Constitution,”– Lt. Gov Tate Reeves is ignorant that the Federal Governments Supremacy clause is sovereign, established that the federal constitution, and federal law generally, take precedence over state laws, and even state constitutions. https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/supremacy_clause

Bible Belt states are acting like a maniacal estranged husband who, after losing the house and custody of the kids in court, decides to murder his family and burn down the house.

I could agree with the upstanding governor if it were also illegal to reproduce without a marriage license – a state full of diaper pooping screaming bastards is a frightening image

      And not uncommon to Mississippi.

Constitutional right to marriage means Mississippi can’t deny the Constitutional right to marriage-PERIOD. Lawsuits, the learning curve of Republicans.

Ya do away with marriage completely; that’ll show ’em. Not that Mississippi folks have bothered with marriage before having children anyway.

Republican U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo said the ruling “tears at the very fabric of our democracy.”

Oddly enough, Rep. Palazzo (R-Hypocrite) has no problem at all with his party’s assault on democracy via Citizens United, convoluted redistricting, restrictive voter ID, or regressive taxation, healthcare, and reproductive rights.

I guess their interpretation of ‘Christian’ behavior is as selective as who should benefit from ‘our’ democracy.

Follow the law or expect to be sued, put in jail, fired or all three. Equality under the law, period.
