Conservatives Vow To Defy Court

Posted by | June 27, 2015 09:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Conservatives say they’ll keep fighting against gay marriage and will defy the court.

According to Talking Points Memo, 2016 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee openly defied the court ruling, which he deemed, “unconstitutional.”

Huckabee also said:

The Supreme Court has spoken with a very divided voice on something only the Supreme Being can do-redefine marriage. I will not acquiesce to an imperial court any more than our Founders acquiesced to an imperial British monarch. We must resist and reject judicial tyranny, not retreat.

RawStory.com reports that Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas told Sean Hannity’s radio show:

On marriage, I’ve introduced a constitutional amendment that would protect the authority of state legislatures to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. We should pass that amendment. I’ve also introduced legislation stripping the federal courts of jurisdiction over legal assaults on marriage.

However, the Supremacy Clause in the U.S. Constitution grants federal authority over the states.

Roy Moore, the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, shared a posting by his wife Kayla on Facebook by The Foundation for Moral Law that states:

Not only does the U.S. Supreme Court have no legal authority to redefine marriage, but also at least 2 members of the Court’s majority opinion were under a legal duty to recuse and refrain from voting. Their failure to recuse calls into question the validity of this decision.

Vote Huckster / Hannity’16~ promising delusionals to repeal the 10th & 14th “unconstitutional” Amendments.

Hey Obe, remember that hateful vicious evil little troll Beaten that would spend every single day on here mocking Liberals and laughing at the sadness felt by gays. He/she made it very personal too.

He/she celebrated for days I think in 2011 when they stopped giving marriage licenses in California knowing that San Fran is the gay mecca, “hey obewon no benefits for your gay buddies, Lol. ” Alan never banned him cause of free speech but can you imagine how he’s tearing his hair out right now? He’s probably reading this comment too lol.

      Karma!

Republicans are so sore losers that they can’t stop frothing whenever things don’t go their way. The real problem with these POS’s is that the latest Supreme Court decisions are both morally and legally right and Repukes just can’t see and accept them.
    IDIOTS!

Whats sad is you feel you can enforce laws and people will follow them, sort of like those gun free zones…how foolish you are, and you feel Americans are gonna give up their rights to many Liberal issues “NOT”, your gonna see another awakening get ready.

They keep talking about biblical interpretation of marriage. I seem to remember a lot of rape, polygamy, incest, slavery, concubines, etc. being in that book. Is that where they want to go with this?

  7. crc3 June 27th, 2015 at 10:36

Maybe when they defy the law they can be put in prison? Sounds good to me!

  8. fahvel June 27th, 2015 at 10:39

any one of these pieces of used toilet tissue should be found in total contempt and spend some fun time in the can if they defy the court.

It makes sense that Huckleberry wants to pick and choose what laws to obey, because he picks and chooses from the buybull very selectively just like all conservatives do.

  10. rg9rts June 27th, 2015 at 11:41

The gopee way…only obey laws they agree with

  11. anothertoothpick June 27th, 2015 at 12:08

Three body blows to his ideology this week, and now this is his response.

  12. William June 27th, 2015 at 12:23

I’m not sure that I can take much more.
First the highest court in the land bitch slaps the GOP on the ACA challenge (again). Politicians that used to support the treason flag are folding faster than superman on laundry day. THEN the Supreme court makes gay marriage legal. In the midst of it all, Bristol falls off the virgin wagon……again.
Have I died and gone to liberal heaven? or Conservative hell?

    • whatthe46 June 27th, 2015 at 12:39

      you are on target. again.

      • William June 27th, 2015 at 12:41

I just wish they would keep the promises they already made

        • Larry Schmitt June 28th, 2015 at 06:20

Maybe they could do all three, in any order they choose.

          • ShelleysLeg June 29th, 2015 at 20:29

What happens when they discover gay marriage has been legal in Canada for 10 years and THEY haven’t all gone to hell?

    • Larry Schmitt June 28th, 2015 at 10:18

Isn’t liberal heaven conservative hell? And vice-versa?

  13. Mike June 27th, 2015 at 12:45

So far this June, Huck a Jebbus has gone to bat for a pedophile, backed the banner of hate, slavery, and sedition, spoke against insuring 10 million Americans, and is threatening “Biblical Civil Disobedience” (WTF is that?) because a class of citizen was awarded the same rights he enjoys.
Honestly, what sane person would vote for an individual this unbalanced…???

    • rg9rts June 27th, 2015 at 12:48

      Some one did …once

And besides his backing the Duggar, he also co-authored a book with a man who we now know is a child molester. He also has two sons, one of whom tortured and killed a dog; the other starred in a weird little film in the role of a sleazy porn producer.

Getting warm fuzzy feelings yet about this self-proclaimed family values man?

  14. William June 27th, 2015 at 13:02

    Sharing LOL.

  15. Merlin June 27th, 2015 at 21:03

I say sue each and every rethug that has a job in government and defies the supremes!

  16. burqa June 27th, 2015 at 21:42

This is getting fun. I anticipate it becoming more enjoyable in the days to come as the GOP candidate crowd tries to outdo each other in expressing their outrage.
Now we just need the press to needle them along a bit.
For example, taking the above quote by Cruz, they could ask “Is simply proposing an amendment really enough? Mike Huckabee says we should resist the ruling and not obey it. Does he go far enough or is his rhetoric too extreme?”

    – just plop a great big cheeseburger in the middle of that bear trap for Cruz and the rest until they get to arguing over how many people need to be shot in order to reverse the Supreme Court’s decision…

    • William June 28th, 2015 at 09:53

It has been a fun week hasn’t it?

      • burqa June 28th, 2015 at 14:24

It has indeed and it’s only just begun! We’ve got months and months of backbiting between Republicans to look forward to as they try to emerge from the crowd of candidates.
They’re not going to be able to do it by running against Hillary, they’ve got to show primary voters why they are the best choice – read more ideologically pure – and to do this they’ll have to start butt-biting….

      • mcalleyboy June 29th, 2015 at 23:03

        • whatthe46 June 29th, 2015 at 23:13

damn you’re dumb. but, it’s what i expect from a repuke. no brains.

  17. StoneyCurtisll June 27th, 2015 at 22:30

When Huckabee says he is going to defy the ruling on gay marriage…
It means he is going to do nothing different than what he has always done.
He is no longer the Governor of Arkansas, and he has never performed a wedding for a gay couple..
He acts as if he is somehow personally effected by the courts ruling…
    P!ss on him~!

    • Larry Schmitt June 28th, 2015 at 06:24

“Pi$$ on him!” Only if he sets himself on fire first.

    • burqa June 28th, 2015 at 14:27

He’s gonna get ta rootin’ and-a tootin’ and-a rompin’ and-a stompin’ in his refusal to marry another man!

      …………………………………………………………………………………you go, Mike…

      • StoneyCurtisll June 28th, 2015 at 15:52

As if any “gay couple” would ask Huckabee to officiate their nuptials…:)

  18. StoneyCurtisll June 28th, 2015 at 14:24

That preacher backed on his threat…
Huckabee is no more reliable to follow through..:)

what took them so long ?

    • Larry Schmitt June 28th, 2015 at 18:26

He was ineligible as soon as he said, “I’m running for president.”

      • robert June 28th, 2015 at 18:31
