Page Six reports that NBC is close to a decision about Brian Williams.

Sources tell Page Six that Williams will likely lose his anchor chair following the lengthy internal investigation into his alleged tall tales.

But NBC brass — led by NBCUniversal CEO and president Steve Burke and NBC News chairman Andy Lack — have been looking for a way to keep him at the network in a different, yet-to-be-agreed-upon role. One source told us, “Brian’s six-month suspension is over in early August, and NBC chiefs are under pressure to come up with a solution. The talks are complicated and are ongoing, and there has not yet been a deal. But it is likely he won’t be back in the ‘Nightly’ anchor chair. A decision could be made as early as this week, if all sides can reach an agreement.”

Industry insiders said NBC News staff, led by Lack, have been encouraged to think of alternative roles for Williams.

So did Rush Limabugh and he was not taken off the air.

Yes, he got caught lying. And he should be punished. But should a lie mean he can never work again?

Personally, I say he should be demoted for a while. Give him jobs where he has to do real, serious, hard work. Require that he disclose all instances where he misrepresented himself in his role as a journalist, with a clause in his new contract emphasising that any future revelations of such lies are grounds for permanent termination, so he’d better come clean now.

Such is the fundamental difference between accountability on the left, and accountability on the right.

I think you mean “accountability on the right, and accountability to the rest of society”. The “Left” isn’t the only place where you find real accountability, it’s just an example. The right, on the other hand, currently has a massive problem with lack of accountability.

There’s no such thing as accountability on the right. They’re out to make money, even if it means lying to keep the sheeple tuned in. Personally, I think one of the requirements for procuring a talk show on Fox is bullshit proficiency.

one thing for sure rush will not be much of a voice anymore, heck he will be lucky to get a contact renewal, as most of the stations he has been moved to very low power AM stations that the classical stations are heard by more people.

What’s that smell?? Why its rush being flushed! and the country is so much better for it!
