Let the rewrites begin! And who better to lead the charge into revisionism than Donald Rumsfeld himself. President George W. Bush was wrong to try to build democracy in Iraq, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said in a recent interview, marking a striking admission from a key player behind the 2003 U.S. invasion. An anecdote from the F*ck Up Hall of Fame.

Richard Roe was the A&R rep for Decca Records-UK. A business acquaintance sent him a demo record. Roe told the business acquaintance that there was no market for the kind of singer-songwriter guitar music he just heard on the demo

    The acquaintance was Brian Epstein.

The singer-songwriters were a couple of teenagers from Liverpool named John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Roe’s colossal f*ck-up cost Decca Records untold millions of dollars, but at least nobody died.

The big diff here is that Roe never tried to rewrite history.

Isn’t it amazing when cons try to fool everyone with these attempts? It’s as if they don’t think there are such things as print and video that are easily accessible by a grade schooler.

March 2003: RUMSFELD: “Not at all. If you think — let me take that, both pieces — the area in the south and the west and the north that coalition forces control is substantial. It happens not to be the area where weapons of mass destruction were dispersed. We know where they are. They’re in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.” Er uhmm “CIA veteran Ray McGovern, who recently told the Secretary of Defense he lied when he said he knew where the WMD were located in Iraq in March 2003. Rumsfeld refused to acknowledge his error and falsely claimed he was talking about “suspect sites.” Watch it” http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2006/05/26/5528/rumsfelds-revisionist-history/
