Rand Paul: Republican Hawks Caused ISIS

Posted by | May 27, 2015 12:00 | Filed under: Politics War & Peace

Rand Paul is not going to be embraced by the war hawks, thankfully.

Paul (R-KY) said on Morning Joe Wednesday that the policies of the hawks in his party were at least partly responsible for the rise of ISIS, the Sunni militants currently marauding across Syria and Iraq.

“[Senator] Lindsey Graham (R-SC) would say, ISIS exists because of people like Rand Paul who said let’s not go into Syria,” host Joe Scarborough posed.

“I would say it’s exactly the opposite,” Paul said. “ISIS exists and grew stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately, and most of those arms were snatched up by ISIS. These hawks also wanted to bomb [Syrian President Bashar] Assad, which would have made ISIS’ job even easier. They created these people.”

He’s spot on. This from an unabashed lib

If Assad was removed, ISIS would be a thousand times stronger than they already are. All Paul is doing is showing the differences between him and other republicans. The non-interventionist stance is libertarian and to be expected by him.

Rand Paul leans libertarian. However, what’s shocking is that he’s standing by his principles. Very unusual for a republican.

    Thanks Obama.

Don’t be silly, ISIS was created just after Bush lied and invaded Iraq, Just think of some of these young men who form part of ISIS, they were 7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,and so on year old , who watch the brutality that American soldiers carried out on their family members , some brothers, mothers, sisters and fathers and other relatives who were slaughtered by the US military, when their relatives neither their leader had done nothing to the Americans!…

And I must let every one know that ISIS will never be defeated, because the circle will forever continue. We here in the west and those Republican Hawks, and Obama, must stop the aggression , against those people and help them to the table so they can salvage what left of their country!.. what is happening there is madness!..

Look at what we cause down there? why I don’t see our Military went into Egypt to restore their legitimately elected leader who was overthrown by a coupe?…
Look what we did with Libya, befriend and lied to Gadaffi to give up his weapons, and then we kill him and now unlike Iraq the country tumble into chaos. Is this the democracy we have to delivered, or is it the only way for us to get in these countries to control their resources?…

the senator is almost right except he first should have said ISIL didn’t exist until after Saddam Husein was dead

ISIS was created by hawks from BOTH PARTIES. Don’t be stupid.

      Explain?

ISIS essentially sprang from groups of disgruntled Iraqi Sunni ex-military, Syrian sunni anti-
Assad militias, and Libyan anti-Khaddafi militias. We funded, and/or armed all three groups, either directly, covertly, or through our proxies (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan). We also destroyed these three countries through our war-making policies, and/or support of maurading militias, and/or covert foreign policy. Today ISIS recruits young muslim adventurers, primarly from Libya Syria and Iraq, but also from the UK, Australia, and other “western” nations – and this is done in the full view and with the complicity of those nations’ political establishments

I wish I could vote for Ron Paul, He is the only Candidate I see who should be given the republican ticket against Clinton. He is a simple but smart and a humanitarian person, who don’t believe in killing others for what they have!…
