‘American Idol’ To End

Next season will be American Idol’s last.

One of the biggest pieces of news Fox shared on Monday, of course, is that American Idol will end with its 15th season. Per usual, that won’t be until midseason — where the network is planning to launch many of its new orders (Lucifer, The Frankenstein Code, The Guide to Surviving Life and long-planned animated comedy Bordertown), the much-hyped X-Files revival and the fifth season of New Girl. Fox will air the comedy, uninterrupted, starting in January.

I will not miss the overhyped karaoke contest one iota, though I am grateful that it did propel progressive and all-around nice guy Clay Aiken to initial fame.

I am grateful to Idol for producing 2 great Artists, Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken. Great voices! I think after season 2 it was all down hill, the show was never able to repeat the Clay/Ruben ratings, the talent,or innocence that year had. All the contestants that season were real off the street talents. So was Kelly.

Carrie Underwood maybe? 14 #1 songs on the Billboard. She is definitely the most successful American Idol contestant ever.
