Marco Rubio Steps On A Rake Yet Again

Marco ‘Big Gulp’ Rubio, the Goldwater-style cold warrior of a new generation and rake-stepping impresario Republican candidate of the 2016 Goat Rodeo tells us that he’s not a bigot, and in fact that he would go to a same-sex wedding.

Does he see the rake lurking in the chapel?

“Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), the newest and youngest official Republican candidate for president, has said he believes marriage should be “traditional”—between a man and a woman.

So Fusion’s Jorge Ramos asked him: If someone in his family or on his staff were gay and getting married, would he attend the wedding?

“If it’s somebody in my life that I care for, of course I would,” Rubio told Ramos in an interview on Wednesday.

“I’m not going to hurt them simply because I disagree with a choice they’ve made or because I disagree with a decision they’ve made, or whatever it may be.”

A) That’s mighty big of you to attend as to not hurt their feelings (it’s all about you, Marco), and 2) Tell them that they made a choice you disagree with. Because LGBTQ people all choose to sign up for a life of being marginalized and discriminated against, if not indeed bashed. But I digress. Do continue, Senator, but look out for that rake…

“Ultimately, if someone that you care for and is part of your family has decided to move in one direction or another or feels that way because of who they love, you respect that because you love them.”

THWACK!

So… are you not saying that you would respect the decision of gay loved-ones, but not a gay stranger?

“But again, as I said, I’m a member of the Catholic faith that teaches, for example, that divorce is wrong,” Rubio said. “But if someone gets divorced, I’m not going to stop loving them or having them a part of our lives.”

THWACK!

I see. So same-sex marriage is as acceptable as divorce, so when are you going to try to campaign against that, Senator?

He should have waited at least 10 years, he is not mature and serious enogh to even be considered as a viable candidate.

50 years would not help his maturity level, and he is nothing more than a puppet for shady interests from Florida, from his first appearance on the political scene… He was ambitious, malleable, and most importantly, obedient to his masters.

I agree, I don’t trust someone who lies so easily and so often about nothing.

This is an example of how the republicans lack the ability or desire to empathize. It also seems that they do not have the desire to think introspectively or ponder the repercussions of their rhetoric and policies.

Which brings me to the question I always have about if they believe the vile hatred that spews from the gullets, or if it is all for show to please their base.

The splinters in his butt must be quite uncomfortable at this point as he tries to straddle every fence he comes across.

Save traditional marriage in two easy steps, ban divorces and stone adulterers.
