The East Front of the U.S. Capitol Building is open to pedestrian traffic but the West Front remains closed until further notice, Capitol Police said.

Capitol Police spokeswoman Kimberly Schneider says the suspected shooter was “neutralized” after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It’s unclear whether the man is dead. No one else is believed to be hurt.

Guaranteed that the Right-wing extremist haters will blame this on President Obama, and will continue to do so no matter what the facts turn out to be.

Thoughts and prayers go out for the family and friends of this victim of suicide. May he or she rest in peace.

      US Capitol is GOP Turf.
Had it been against Obama they would have done it in front of the White House.

Still won’t stop the right-wing wackos from blaming the President.

I’m sure they’ll find a way to blame Hillary, too.

Was this shooter depressed upon finding out the NRA convention in TN is a gun free zone? Kudus for not taking away anyone else’s life.Free to carry guns in national parks doesn’t extend to D.C. unless you pass SCOTUS Heller’s mandatory D.C. background check & registration.

“Thank you for calling the US House of Representatives. Your call is VERY important to us (during election years). At this time all Representatives are busy helping themselves to yours and your fellow citizens’ cash. Please hold the line and we will continue to ignore you like we always have. Your expected wait to be served is… 20 years.”
I don’t blame him for not waiting. The results would probably have been the same.

Hmmm. I didn’t know the west front was open before. That’s the side facing the Mall and has that long flight of stairs in front of it. I was under the impression it has been closed since 9/11.
