Broadway’s ‘Mamma Mia!’ To Close

Not to many shows last 14 years and are seen over and over again.

The classic has made a name for itself as the eighth longest-running show in Broadway history, having been seen by over 54 million people worldwide and produced in 16 languages in over 400 cities.

The musical was adapted into film in 2008 and starred Meryl Streep.

The blockbuster took in $600 million, making it the most successful musical film.

“Mamma Mia!” will be officially retired from its home at the Broadhurst Theatre Sept. 5, after 5,765 performances.
