Downton Abbey Ending
The next and sixth season will be the last.
Click here for reuse options!Executive producer Gareth Neame confirmed Thursday that “Downton Abbey” will end after its upcoming sixth season — and said there has been discussion of continuing the story of these charismatic aristocrats as a feature film.“It is something we are contemplating. It would be a wonderful extension of the TV show,” Neame said. “It would take a lot of time and planning. [Creator] Julian [Fellowes] and I would be very interested in doing it.”
Neame said that the decision to end “Downton” on a high note was a joint decision by producers and the cast and he stressed that contract negotiations or ratings were not a factor.

Oh well, another show come and gone that I never saw even one episode of. It’ll join Seinfeld and Friends.

I could have lived without Seinfeld, I never thought it was that great. I loved Friends, but it really only worked in the 90’s. Like you, I haven’t seen any Downtown Abbey, but I’m a binge watcher so I’m sure it’s in my future.
Then again, I spent one entire week watching 3 seasons of a New Zealand show called The Almighty Johnsons. They were four brothers (and their grandpa) in NZ that were reincarnated Norse gods. It was awful, so, very awful that I loved it. ANd the music was really pretty good.

Some of my favorite shows were ones that I disdained to watch on their first runs: Sherlock, Scrubs, Night Court, Friends (not all that bad), and, while I was just a wee sprout, Green Acres (arguably the single. weirdest. show. ever!, including the Monkees).
I don’t foresee that happening with this show.
