Germanwings Co-Pilot Intentionally Crashed Plane

We are posting this shocker of a development in the mystery surrounding the crash of Germanwings as a French prosecutor is wrapping up a press conference:

Audio from the mangled voice recorder of Germanwings Flight 9525 reveals the captain was locked out of the cockpit while the co-pilot appeared to make a deliberate attempt to destroy the plane, Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said Thursday.

The co-pilot of the doomed Germanwings flight “accelerated the descent” of the plane when he was alone in the cockpit, Robin said. That can only be done deliberately, he said.

Robin said the co-pilot was a German national and not on any terrorism list. He named him as Andreas Lubitz.

When a reporter asked Robin whether he knew Lubitz’s religion, Robin said that he did not know.

The most plausible explanation of the crash is that the co-pilot “through deliberate abstention, refused to open the cabin door … to the chief pilot, and used the button” to cause the plane to lose altitude, Robin said.

He emphasized that his conclusions were preliminary.

The prosecutor did not rule out a medical emergency, but certainly implied that everything points to a deliberate act. According to The Telegraph (UK), copilot, Lubitz, age 28, joined Germanwings straight out of flight school and had only 630 hours of total flight time.

so now the plot thickens here in Act II.
Well still to early to start doing the headless chicken dance, of terrorist plots, but it sure adds mystery to this now seemly mass murder investigation.

Sure sounds like a Lutheran terrorist to me!

Interesting to compare sound bites on the three US cable news networks from the last 10 minutes. Here’s what sticks out — actual words.

MSNBC: “Shocking”… “At a loss [for words]”… “Flight protocols”
CNN: “Deliberate acts”… “Stunning… open and frank [Marseille prosecutor]”…
FOX: “[so far] no links to Islamic terrorists…”

These appear not to be outliers in each network’s coverage.

Don’t you worry none. Fox will work diligently to find a way to blame the Muslims for this tragedy.

By process of elimination, to me, it is starting to look like it may have had something to do with his girl friend.

I wonder how long these two pilots was flying together as a crew?
So just what is meant by the Co-Pilot got curt with his answers just before the Pilot left?

well it seems that the voice recorder was the black box needed, as the data one would have shown normal reading and power settings as if it was part of the flight.
