McConnell Takes Lynch Hostage

The Senate Majority Leader apes the evildoers and takes the nomination of Loretta Lynch to succeed Eric Holder at the Justice Department hostage until Democrats let him pass a bill undermining reproductive rights (disguised as anti-human-trafficking legislation):

“This will have an impact on the timing of considering a new attorney general,” McConnell told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.” “I had hoped to turn to her next week, but if we can’t finish the trafficking bill, she will be put off again.”

Translation: “It’s another opportunity to sabotage Obama’s presidency to placate the not-so-stealth racist haters in the GOP base.”

Democrats are now holding up the trafficking bill, which glided through the judiciary committee, after they noticed an abortion provision embedded in the bill.

“We have to finish the human trafficking bill,” McConnell said. “The Loretta Lynch nomination comes next.”

A vote on Lynch’s nomination was slated to take place this coming week, more than two weeks after the Senate Judiciary Committee approved Lynch’s nomination.

Democrats have pointed out that Lynch’s nomination has been held up in the Senate longer than any U.S. attorney general nominee in three decades.

    I’m wearing my shocked fact.

it sure was an ‘unexpected’ surprise to me, what with the 6 plus years of ‘AmeriKan’ friendship that’s been offered to a one term POTUS. I guess the newness of a POTUS that has actually worked FOR THE PEOPLE (ref: foreign policies and domestic economy) is starting to wear a little thin on the WHITE Kristian RepubliKlans?

I hope Holder trumps him by starting an investigation into the treacherous letter to Iran McConnells name is on.
I mean, as long as Holder is there, he may as well spend his time doing something constructive..

They could go after those Wall St. bankers that sunk our economy a couple of years back.

    • Suzanne McFly March 15th, 2015 at 14:15

Exactly, they already hate him so remind them why he is so despised by the saviors of the military machine.

    • granpa.usthai March 15th, 2015 at 14:25

that’s true – plus, when Ms. Lynch assumes office, she can expand the investigation to see what illegal connections there are between certain US Government Officials and classified information being received on BENGHAZI that somehow bypassed the US Military Commander in Chief.

Guess they really just love Eric Holder.

    • granpa.usthai March 15th, 2015 at 14:22

Shame Mr. Holder’s vacation plans have to be put on hold though. -gonna cost the taxpayers of Maricopa County a bundle.

      • OldLefty March 15th, 2015 at 14:37

        I think they love him.

    GET OUT OF MY UTERUS!

    • granpa.usthai March 15th, 2015 at 14:19

I don’t think you’re suppose to talk to a United States Senator like that, Carla. Might want to consider writing an open letter to the leader of Israel though. They’re advancing rapidly in the belief that a woman is capable of making her own decisions without having to be told what to do by a madman.

      • Carla Akins March 15th, 2015 at 14:25

I have read that despite their very conservative political stance that they’ve determined women are best served making medical decisions with their doctors and families instead of their elected officials. Senator McConnell however, can continue to kiss my ass. :-)

Will men and women be allowed to sit together in synagog???

      • bluejayray March 16th, 2015 at 12:22

And don’t Jewish males start their day with a prayer thanking god for not making them a woman? A lot of men seem to have some really creepy fears of women.

Seen part of the interview and all his responses were the same, “we will vote for Loretta Lynch as soon as we vote on the human trafficking bill”. McConnell has nothing and this drag out on the vote for Lynch proves it.

jez – I feel for Mr. Holder. Can’t leave until his replacement is sworn in – gotta be a vacation ruin for sure. Good thing the Waikiki Hilton has such understanding management and will just add the holding fees for the Royal Kahuna Suite to Sheriff pink panties bill. After all this time of his cold deputy chilling out in Hawaii, taxpayers won’t even notice.

  8. bpollen March 15th, 2015 at 15:28

Does he have a turtle-crush on Holder?

  9. Larry Schmitt March 15th, 2015 at 17:22

This is what congress does all too often. They add unrelated elements to bills, then hold up something else unrelated to it until they get their way. And both parties do it. Can you imagine if a businessman tried to negotiate that way? They wouldn’t be allowed to get away with it.

GOP loves playing this stupid foolish game all the time and always fail.

    • bluejayray March 16th, 2015 at 12:19

It’s all just a game to them. Too bad we’ve got a country full of people to run.

Someone better remind ole turkey wattles that HE didn’t like it too much when his tactics were turned on him…Karma turkey Karma

Maybe she’ll withdraw her name and run for the Senate instead, ala Elizabeth Warren.
