Poll: Republicans Would Be Blamed For Shutdown

Posted by | February 17, 2015 11:00 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

A CNN/ORC poll shows Americans would blame the GOP for shutdown at the Department of Homeland Security.

The survey finds 53% of Americans would blame the Republicans in Congress if the department must shut down, while 30% would blame President Barack Obama. Another 13% say both deserve the blame.
If a spending bill is not passed by Feb. 28, the agency’s funding will run out.

30% will blame Obama just because. Sounds like most rational thinking people think it’s the GOP doing the shutdown. GOP aren’t making many new friends that’s for sure. Hurry up 2016. Please people, vote.

well 30% that is pretty much the top mark of the tea movement, it`s hover around 22 to 30%.

Would? or SHOULD? think it is the later cause they manufacture the problem and elevated it to this ending.

so we have the funding stopping on the 27th Feb,,,, security will be working BUT how hard not being payed and not knowing when the clowns will finish there clown act. March 3rd BiBI rolls his back stabling clown show into town.

I love how you used the words ‘hover’ and ‘around’ because hover rounds are what many of the elderly tea partiers show up riding at their rallies when they come to protest against too much government spending! They never think about the fact that it’s that government spending that helps them afford the vehicles and provides their Social Security and Medicare. Their cluelessness is a wonder to behold.

the whole fear of shutting down DHS is silly. John Kerry said last week Global Warming was a bigger threat to America than Terrorism.

That being true, you think we should just add to the problem? More problems make you happy or something?

    • Mike February 17th, 2015 at 11:59

I’d have to agree, you see there is a combined effort to address global terrorism whereas with Climate Change we have a lot of the players looking out for themselves only.

Let’s not forget that FEMA, the agency responsible for delivering federal assistance after a natural disaster is an agency of DHS.

It will be fascinating to hear how the GOP spins it if a red state suffers some catastrophic disaster and there is no money to help. Is someone whose home has been destroyed by a flood and has no shelter, really going to care about immigration debates?

The problem is that there are far too many people in this country who would be in exactly that predicament, but come election day will still vote for whomever has the “R” after their name because BENGHAZI!!!!!!!!!!
