Conservative Group Up In Arms About ‘Family Guy’ Statutory Rape Subplot

The Parents Television Council issued this statement:

“We believe that Family Guy’s description of this explicit sexual terminology violates the broadcast indecency law. And we believe that joking about statutory rape, asFamily Guy did throughout this episode, exceeds contemporary community standards of decency for the broadcast medium. As such, we urge our members, as well as other Americans who agree that the broadcast was legally indecent, to file formal indecency complaints with the FCC.

“Sexual assault is an increasingly troubling problem across America. Joking about child rape on TV shows and using such patently offensive sexual dialogue — especially when they air at such an early hour and when they attract such a young viewing audience – is a gross violation of a broadcast licensee’s public interest obligation.”

A “Family Guy” thread on a liberal political website?
Why, if I was one of those posters that didn’t take every opportunity to make snarky comments only marginally related to the topic, I’d be mad as Hell!

But republicans don’t believe in rape, they have tried dozens of times to change the definition of rape so that children could be raped with impunity as well as the handicapped and coma patients and even people who are asleep!!

Republicans can’t open their mouths without uttering the word rape, they all do it, the politicians and their mouthpieces like Limpaw and O’Really

And even if it was “rape”, assuming that the slút didn’t ask for it by wearing less than an ankle-length skirt and blousey tops, the resulting fetus is a gift from God…

IKR? Isn’t that the sickest thing you have ever heard, even for a republican that is beyond the pale.

Did you see the article today about the republican who wants to outlaw women wearing tight pants? The hajib can’t be far behind.

exactly. by the way, this cartoon character received more time than what actual child rapist gets. so i’d say, the legal system (in the real world) doesn’t take child rape seriously.

This is what happens when religious institutions are perceived as infallible Child rape becomes the child’s fault. Truly disgusting.

hahaha I know I would not have anything to do with one of them and most of the women I know would not either.

Joking about statutory rape is not OK with this group, but forcing a woman to give birth to a rapist’s child is and so is giving the rapist visitation rights. SMDH.

It’s almost as if they’ve never seen a single episode of Family Guy before.
