End Of Era For Rockettes

While they’ll still perform at holiday shows, their touring company is being shut down.

In what one veteran stepper described as “a bloodbath,” the legendary dance troupe has decided to shutter its decades-old touring company, sources told The News.

The move was confirmed Friday by David Goodman, president of productions and live entertainment at MSG Entertainment.

“We regularly evaluate our touring shows and made the decision to end this tour as we continue to explore new approaches to best showcase the Christmas Spectacular and Rockettes brands,” Goodman said in a statement to The News.

That sucks, I don’t understand how they can just be open for Christmas shows, what will they do for the other 11 months? They put on a great show anyone can enjoy.

Yup, we are getting a little snow now. I wouldn’t mind living on a remote island somewhere in a warm climate and I would be fine if I never saw a snow shovel ever again.

I want to at least try it. Swim all day, sleep under the stars, be surrounded by animals, I think I could be extremely happy there.

Spent a year and a half on Guam 68 for a low 72 for a high except at the beach..95 % humidity so that everything you touched got mildewed.

Had a pair of spitshined boots under the bed.. and in 6 weeks had green cheese all over it..Had to have a lightbulb in the locker to stop the clothes from rotting on the hangar. Bugs galore and creepy crawlies to eat them…. did you know that geckos sing?? The only way you knew it was spring was the flame trees blossomed. And stupid Japanese soldiers running around the jungle…I did see a bioluminescent mushroom…glowed purple

I was stationed in Bermuda (how bad is that? lol) and the only bad thing I remember is drinking too much rum after we worked 16 straight hours unpacking our squadron and I passed out on the beach. I woke up with second degree burns on a couple different areas of my body. I had bed rest for three days, but that cheap rum was awesome :)

Hell no, from what I remember I had a blast. Even the McDonalds had McBeer. I don’t drink like that anymore, but it is definitely a place I loved to see. (I know you were joking, but it was awesome to be there and I love to talk about it as you can see).

You implied you were in the service at the time….sun burn days off add to your enlistment… called bad time… Had a lot of those…TDY’s that got fried their first days there …lobsters…you knew when the next batch had arrived.. Sort of like watching them run when the daily rains came..the regulars just walked through it and ignored it..over in a few minutes anyway
