House Has Spent 8% Of Its Time Trying To Repeal Obamacare

Tuesday marked a milestone for the 114th Congress. The House voted to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law in March 2010.

That’s not newsworthy by itself. But did you know it was the 56th time they have done that? If you look at the House schedule for the day of February 3, 2015, or watch the archived footage of the floor proceedings, you will see it takes nearly one day to conduct the debate and vote.

The House is in session an average of 135 days per year, and has voted 56 times in less than 5 years to repeal the ACA. That equates to more than 11 times per year. So roughly 11 days of every year (or just over 8%) are spent trying to repeal the ACA.

You’ve got to wonder just how stupid the republicans really are. If they are able to repeal Ocare they will be left with millions of uninsured angry voters who would surely kick their butts out of office. Wouldn’t it be a bit more prudent to have an alternative in place before taking up the question of repeal?

Yes it would. But using logic is not practiced commonly in Congress.

Wish I was talented enough to put this in a pie chart, would be nice to send my Rep and the 2 “leaders” in congress when ever they tweet something.
Guess I’ll have to settle for sending them this link

I’m not sure they would understand the link either. When it comes to explaining the ACA to the goober lobby, I think they can relate better to Cletus.

They have to do something! It’s not like there’s a war or anything going on. The economy is humming, our bridges and roads are top notch, race relations are at their best, ever! You go, Congress! I want you to stop that damned, socialist healthcare for the blue states.

So doesn’t this mean that they have spent over 75% raising money for their next campaign and vaca?

So doesn’t this mean that they have spent over 75% of the people’s times raising money for their next campaign and vaca and talking to themselves and each other about which country they’re going to visit at taxpayers expense?
