Stockholm syndrome; or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors.

We have to admit to ourselves that the women attracted to men like Zimmerman are (generally) damaged to begin with. As with most women in abusive relationships, they see little to no value in themselves and think they deserve no better. This is almost always due to growing up in a situation where abusive is accepted as a way of life. Our expectations, that these women stand up to him in court with little benefit to themselves is, I guess unrealistic. The last person that stood up to him ended up dead.

Not really but it is a chronic pattern for abusers and the abused.. You want a down and dirty label??? “But Love Him ” syndrome.. He promised never to do it again(till the next time) and so on.

same thing happened with his wife when he assaulted her and pulled a shotgun on her father -they all of a sudden decided not to cooperate with prosecutors – this guy keeps getting away with this crazy behavior because these women are seeing money in their future or they are Stockholm syndrome victims.
