Jim Bakker Interviews Mike Huckabee To Cries Of ‘Hallelujah’

Posted by | January 20, 2015 18:00 | Filed under: Politics Religion Top Stories

Mike Huckabee appeared on the television show of televangelist Jim Bakker to discuss his book, God, Guns, Grits and Gravy, and his likely presidential run. It was not a tough interview.

Bakker was so impressed by the book that he claimed to have studied it like the Bible and practically begged Huckabee to run for president. Bakker led the audience in cheers while shouting “hallelujah” after Huckabee said that he ended his Fox News program in order to explore a possible presidential candidacy, which prompted Huckabee to declare that he ought to “launch the entire campaign” on Bakker’s show.

“I cannot believe how God blessed me so much to introduce this book,” Bakker said, gushing that Huckabee’s book will “save this country.”

I have to admit, when I first heard the title for his book “God, guns, grits and gravy”, I thought it was a joke. I thought SNL was making up a story for a skit. Just by looking at the title, how can you seriously say you want to represent all of us as our President. That would be like President Obama coming out with a book “Wind turbines, renewable energy, education, and equal pay”.

It does look like an Onion article, doesn’t it? But then so much of the news about republicans does. You do a double take, and ask yourself, “Did I really read that?”

The right might put the onion out of business, the stories in the typical news paper are becoming comical, but not in a har har funny sense. More like an “hell no, they can’t be serious”, but they are.

He’s trying to pump his image in 3 categories. 1) he needs to stress being piuous, 2) he needs to appear macho, 3) he trying to appear like reg’lar folk.
Me, I’m a 13th generation Southerner and I don’t care for gravy with my grits. Salt, black pepper and real butter go with grits. Occasionally I might substitute a few shakes of Texas Pete for the black pepper.
Huckabee doesn’t realize he’s going nowhere in terms of the GOP 2016 nomination.
I’d like to see him get into a really nasty pissing contest with Rand Paul…

I can’t believe he actually believes he will get anywhere in the primaries. I figured he was running to sell his crappy book like so many nuts on the right usually do as they claim they are the most patriotic.

I thought Bakker was dead. These two charlatans are cut from the same bolt of cloth.
