Ben Carson Says He’s ‘Not Crazy’ (Which Is Exactly What A Crazy Person Would Say)

Posted by | January 16, 2015 12:20 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

After well-documented remarks made by Ben Carson, such as comparing present-day America to Nazi Germany, the possible presidential candidate insisted to attendees at the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting that he’s “not crazy.”

The Tea Party favorite tried to dismiss controversies that have surrounded him as lies from “the liberal media.”

The National Journal reports:

Carson defended, among other things, his statements about Obamacare being the worst thing since slavery; comparing present-day America to Nazi Germany; and calling last year’s Veterans Affairs scandal “a gift from God” because it revealed holes in the system.

“I stand by those” remarks, Carson told the crowd. “I don’t think there’s anything crazy at all.”

Still, the significant time devoted to explaining and debunking these incidents suggests Carson is keenly aware of the damage they could do to his White House run…

Carson failed to bring the crowd to its feet, save for his entrance and exit from the stage. But some lines drew sporadic applause. He decried the “victimhood” mentality in America; reiterated his staunch opposition to same-sex marriage; and declared that “this is a country that is based on Judeo-Christian values and we should not throw those away.”

“They’ve got the wrong philosophy but they’re willing to die for what they believe,” Carson said of ISIS, “while we’re busily giving away every value and every belief for the sake of political correctness.”

Carson, suddenly realizing the implications of his statement, quickly added that the media would take his remark out of context. “They are just so ridiculous,” he said of the reporters in back of the room.

Quoting Carson verbatim is a “liberal lie” apparently.

And he wants your children to die for what he beleves in….
So glad I’ve never had to say…….. I’m not crazy…….. to anyone.

It’s pretty much a given that if you feel the need to tell people you’re not crazy, you’re probably crazy.

“I stand by those” remarks, Carson told the crowd. “I don’t think there’s anything crazy at all.”, Isn’t this the Ben equivalent of the white racist claiming he has black friends?

I won’t even address Ben’s relative sanity, but I don’t have high hopes for anybody who actually votes for this pisher.

    • Larry Schmitt January 16th, 2015 at 17:33

Even if you don’t know what a pisher is, (I didn’t until I looked it up) it just sounds like an insult, and it sounds like it fits him perfectly.

The wonders of Yiddish! I’m not Jewish, don’t speak Yiddish, but I find myself using a number of Yiddish words. Shmuck, kvetch, kvell, kibbitz, meshugenah, momser, pisher, shtick, tuchus, mensch, and so on.

I further suspect that whatever portion of the human brain is dedicated to the study of history is hanging on the wall of Ben’s office, next to the diploma.”
