The good news keeps rolling in on everyone’s favorite statute:

For the first time in a decade, the number of people struggling to pay their medical bills has started to decline, according to a new survey released on Thursday by the Commonwealth Fund. The researchers attributed the historic drop to the number of people gaining insurance under the health care reform law.

Between 2012 and 2014 — as Obamacare’s main coverage expansion took effect — the Commonwealth researchers found that the number of people who had issues paying for health treatment dropped from 41 percent to 35 percent. Over the same time period, the people who skipped out on health services because they couldn’t afford them declined from 43 percent to 36 percent.

It’s called “wealth re-distribution”. Take from some and give to others. A Communist idea if there ever was one.

Yes, we know Kindergarten and all that “sharing” stuff was just so difficult, wasn’t it? Did you not get your “sharing” trophy one day?

So Sarah Palin is a communist?

Honestly do you ever take just a moment to actually give some careful thought to the nonsense you put in this forum?

It must really chap your hide that a President you hate with such passion was elected twice, and his signature achievement is working.

So you continue to wallow in your hatred of the President of the United States. But take a moment to consider what a right wing hero had to say about “sharing the wealth”.

I know, I know, it’s only communism when liberals advocate it. Such is the essence of being a right winger in 21st century America. Mind-numbing hypocrisy is the only real core value.

And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.” And she said, “Our state constitution—it lays it out for me, how I’m to conduct business with resource development here as the state C.E.O. It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans.”

Alaska is sometimes described as America’s socialist state, because of its collective ownership of resources—an arrangement that allows permanent residents to collect a dividend on the state’s oil royalties.

Wealth redistribution? That’s what your Republican friends are doing with their war on the middle class. Ever heard of corporate welfare?

Isn’t that nice. But for many like myself, my rates are up. Co-pays are up. Rx costs are up. And I surely haven’t saved $2500.00 like the “Dear Leader” said I would. Thanks a lot Bam Bam!

Nor can your insurance company drop you when you are seriously ill and are most in need of your coverage.

I wish there was a way for you Obama-haters with your “Dear Leader” garbage to opt out of the ACA and not enjoy any of the benefits it provides. The opt out would mean that your insurance company could continue the practice of dropping people who get sick, and of denying coverage for pre existing conditions.

For the person who opts out, suffers a catastrophic illness and loses their coverage, they would be prohibited from discharging medical expenses in any bankruptcy proceeding, making other people pay for their irresponsible decision.

Here is a memory from the “good old days” before the ACA was passed. In a perfect world, we would find a way to give you exactly what you want, to let a corporation toss you in the dumpster in the name of profit.

Your rates are up because of your beloved “free market”, not the ACA. You and your buddies love capitalism until you get to pay up, then you look to blame someone else. So, sorry.

    • tracey marie January 15th, 2015 at 23:50

I doubt your rates or anything else are up.

NY HC premiums plummeted from $1000/Mo+ (-70%) to $308 per month without any low income subsidies. You blew it again by moving to the dreaded state of FL. Gone are preexisting exclusions, lifetime care caps. And now you have HC portability when Amazon drones and self driving vehicles replace you!

Blame your employer From what I have been reading, your rates should have decreased, not increase. We they in the exchange? If not, that may explain it.
