Scott Walker Destroys Conservative Argument Against Obamacare

The upcoming Supreme Court  case that conservatives hope will destroy Obamacare, King v. Burwell, rests on their belief that tax credits can be given to only those consumers in state-run exchanges.  They believe that Obamacare wasn’t meant to provide tax credits to those on the federally-run exchanges. But Walker says there is absolutely no difference between them in a Wall Street Journal interview.

WALKER: When I looked — and I spent nearly two years looking at this . . . I visited [Washington DC], as a new governor in December in 2010. As part of that visit I met with Secretary Sebelius, the head of the federal department of HHS, and have spent the last two years with my team, my administration, my cabinet, working with the federal government trying to fully understand and comprehend what it meant to my state and other states. And it was clear! It’s a SINO, “state in name only.”

This really isn’t an exchange that the states run or even run in a partnership. The federal government determines what’s going to be covered. How it’s going to be covered. And the only distinction is whether or not a state can say that they’re running it, put up a sign that says they are running it. But, in the end, there’s no real substantive difference between a federal exchange, or a state exchange, or the in between, the hybrid, the partnership. And so I said, if I can’t run it, if I don’t have control over it, why would I take the responsibility of explaining to people something that I don’t have any control over.

Scott Walker has some “splanin” to do…
His wealthy masters are not going to like this.

It doesn’t bother anyone that “reputable” journalists call the Affordable Care Act “Obamacare”? Am I just nitpicking?

Even Obama has embraced it, so it’s not going away.

      No, you are not.

      “reputable” journalists…

That train left the station years ago.

Both supporters and detractors alike have embraced the term “Obama Care”..
To those who hate Obama, it is an abomination..
To those who like the president, and those who are enjoying the benefits of The Affordable Care Act, it is a blessing.

The only time they tell the truth is when they don’t mean to, oops! Whether this matters to SCOTUS is another thing, though. Are they hell bent to destroy the ACA, or are they going to actually listen to the government’s case and realize how absurdly out of context the basis for this suit is?

They’re just waiting to see which way the political winds are going to blow. That’s what happens when you get too many conservatives on the court.

I guess that Walker and a couple of other rightie’s just pretty much broke wind with this one.

“And so I said, if I can’t run it, if I don’t have control over it, why would I take the responsibility of explaining to people something that I don’t have any control over.” — If only republicans could apply that to God and Religion. The world would be so much better if these right-wing folks would quit trying to explain the universe they have very little control or knowledge about.
