Obama: ‘Next Week We Will Be Ending Our Combat Mission In Afghanistan’

Speaking from Hawaii at Marine Corps Base, President Obama told the troops that combat in Afghanistan will end next week.

We’ve been in continuous war now for over 13 years,” Mr. Obama told troops gathered in the mess hall at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. “Next week we will be ending our combat mission in Afghanistan.”

“Hurrah!” one service member shouted.

Mr. Obama continued, “Because of the extraordinary service of the men and women in the armed forces, Afghanistan has a chance to rebuild its own country.”…

Still, the Afghanistan withdrawal has not been simple. Earlier this month, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said the United States would keep roughly 1,000 more troops than originally planned in Afghanistan through early 2015, in part because the NATO force there is not big enough to train the Afghan military. About 5,500 American troops are expected to still be stationed there at the end of 2015.

”Because of their service [blowing up the country] Afghanistan
has a chance to rebuild its own country
    [they blew up].

Imagine the years of practice it takes to be able to say that with a straight face.

    Musical Wars Timeline
Troops to Afghanistan 2001; to Iraq 2003; 2010 out of * Iraq, back to Afghanistan; last month, back to Iraq; now out of * Afghanistan again.

    * does not include 5-6000 troops to continue the 13 years of training that has taught them to lay down their weapons and run, twice that number of mercenaries, and a secret number of CIA torturers.

    ….
War is like weeding; if you stop, what you don’t want takes over.

We no longer look at things Strategically, from the long-range
big-picture perspective because we are an instant gratification society
who want and expect everything to happen within the time frame
    of a TV show.
So, we ignore the fact that the Islamic world has declared war against
Israel, America, Western Civilization and Christianity,
    over and over for generations.
World War II is the last time America went to war intending to win.
