Camden, MO Cop Shoots And Kills Family’s Golden Retriever

How do you tell a child who only wants the dog back for Christmas that he or she will never see their pet again?

Last Wednesday, December 17, Marley, who has no history of aggression, was barking at a little girl and followed her down the street. Later that day, a Ray County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicle pulled into her driveway, but the driver claimed to be a Camden police officer.

The officer explained the dog needed to be on a leash while local children got off the school bus and Wilhite explained she the dog had gotten loose. Marley then came running around the corner towards the officer, who then shot the dog three times.

“I saw Marley get shot the second time, he fell on the ground. Then probably 30 seconds, at least 30 seconds after that of being on the ground he shot again, the third time,” said Raymond Wilhite, who is also the dog’s owner.

The officer said he feared for his life, but Rhiannon said it was traumatizing and that her children don’t want anything besides Marley back for Christmas. “I borrowed a shovel from my dad and I went out back and buried Marley,” Raymond Wilhite said. “I dug a hole back there and I talked with Marley some more and the kids came out and they said bye.”

Sorry, but what a fucking douche that asshole cop is. Mace, a taser, anything but a fucking bullet.

A boot comes to mind. Then again the dog actually has to get close enough and be aggressive.

I never knew Golden Retrievers to make a person “fear for their life.”

How are these officers getting hired and trained? Since when has “pull your sidearm and fire” been the first go-to response regardless of the situation?

First, you go to boot camp and chant “Kill, Kill, Kill.” Then you go to the MidEast, where the Status of Forces Agreement gives you immunity for war crimes, and you “light up ragheads”. When you’re discharged, a trained killer with PTSD and no other job skills and looking at want ads from burger joints, every police department in the country offers you a better salary with benefits and preferential hiring. So you take your skill set where it’s in demand.

He needs retraining. MO cops are only supposed to shoot black dogs.

If they are so god damned afraid why are they cops. They are likely to run into some bad people who might have guns. I was afraid is the acceptable excuse for shooting kids, dogs you name it all in the name of being a tough dude. Unless the dog bites or is on top of you no need to kill it.

    Happens way too often.

“Cops kill hundreds of dogs a year” There are some disgusting stories here:
    http://www.vox.com/2014/12/15/7373985/police-shoot-dogs

“The Buffalo Police Department shot 92 dogs between January 2011 and September 2014, 73 of which died from their wounds, according to a recent story from local news station WGRZ. Twenty-six of those shootings were the work of one officer — and nearly all of those dogs died.”

the “officer” that killed 26 should have been fired after dog number 2 or 3 as not all of them were dangerous i would think. seriously, this guy has mental issues.
