    So Jesus is the reason why we emulate pagan traditions with an evergreen tree in our homes at the onset of winter to represent fertility, surround it with gifts to bring prosperity, and hold a feast in anticipation of a bountiful harvest in the coming year?

    Whatever.

    Jesus is “a” reason for the season, but hardly “the” reason.
