Koch Brother: ‘I’m A Social Liberal’

Posted by | December 14, 2014 19:00 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

David Koch spoke to Barbara Walters on a special called “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014”.

“I’m basically a libertarian, and I’m a conservative on economic matters, and I’m a social liberal,” Koch told ABC News’ Barbara Walters during an interview for her special “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014″…

Koch, who supports abortion rights and gay marriage, said he isn’t concerned with candidates he supports who don’t share some of his views. He said his primary concern when choosing a candidate to support is their fiscal policies.

“What I want these candidates to do is to support a balanced budget,” he said. “I’m very worried that if the budget is not balanced that inflation could occur and the economy of our country could suffer terribly.”

Now we know what to get the man who has everything (literally) for christmas: a dictionary, because he doesn’t know the meaning of “liberal.” Social or otherwise.

Then maybe he should give up those subsidies and tax breaks to further reduce the deficit.

    • Suzanne McFly December 14th, 2014 at 19:26

Exactly, he doesn’t give two shakes about the national deficit, he cares about his own billions, screw the rest of us.

Then maybe he should give up those subsidies and tax breaks to further reduce the deficit. While at the same time support raising the minimum wage.
No the only thing he supports is cutting medicaid and Snap benefits while balancing the budget on the backs of the middle and lower class..

He would be, if he lived during the Dark Ages, which he and his brothers are trying to send everyone back into. Plus he’s full of crap. Check out the ALEC legislative agenda, which the Koch Brothers’ control. Reversing women’s contraception rights and abortion is at the top of the list.

I didn’t see the interview. What kind of tree did he want to be, other than a dead one from all the fracking and strip mining his various companies do.

David Koch is concerned about inflation because inflation causes the value of all the wealth he has accumulated and hidden away to become worth less. He doesn’t care about America except to the point that he can still profit from Americans. Inflation actually reduces the debt we owe as a percentage of GDP and can be seen as good, as long as it is controlled.

So if we believe David Koch & his TP, they are now campaigning against Koch’s Big Oil $60B+ in annual taxpayer subsidized pork?

    • tiredoftea December 14th, 2014 at 20:58

Don’t kid yourself! He makes money on both sides of the inflation curve.

“What I want these candidates to do is to support a balanced budget,”-Birther David Koch comes out for POTUS Obama’s 70% reduction of GWB’s U.S. record 10/1/08 to 1/20/09 $1.4 T+ deficits: Surprise! Obama likely to leave office with another Dem budget surplus. https://www.aei.org/publication/surprise-obama-might-just-leave-office-with-a-budget-surplus/

Liar Koch’s GOP never supported, or delivered any modern balanced budget, ever! “We went from a $5.6 trillion (continuing CBO forecast) surplus that George Bush inherited to over … $11-plus trillion debt when GWB left office.”-True! http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/jun/02/steny-hoyer/steny-hoyer-says-george-w-bush-inherited-56-trilli/

I guess Larry King wasn’t able to sit upright for this pathetic excuse for an interview. Giving money to PBS and opera companies doesn’t make him a social liberal, it makes him a pathological liar.
