Book: Sinatra Drank A Bottle Of Jack Daily

It wasn’t Alzheimer’s that killed Frank Sinatra; it was booze, says Mitchell Fink, author of Sinatra, Miriam, and Me, an e-book timed for what would have been The Chairman of the Board’s 99th birthday.

“Sinatra was drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels a day until he was 80,” Fink told me. “When his doctors told him that he needed to stop drinking, he did what a lot of alcoholics do in similar circumstances: He switched to wine.”…

Fink also got what turned out to be the last formal interview Ol’ Blue Eyes gave to a print reporter before he died at age 82. The YouTube audio link to the interview is embedded in the e-book.

The author also reports that Sinatra reacted to his daughter Nancy posing nude in Playboy, by saying, “Topless I can understand. But bottomless?”

Never liked the guy. I always thought he was nothing more than a two bit hood.
But he could sing nicely and I liked that.
Too bad he had to drink so much.
For bourbon, I don’t care for the Jack Daniels. I’m a Wild Turkey man, mesself…

    a bottle a day isn’t that much…

just a few shots for breakfast, couple in between lunch,
a few more at lunch time then a bit more for the afternoon break
, a few doubles to relax you into the afternoon,
few shots before supper, couple at supper,
some really tall doubles for a relaxing evening
    , few before bed time
and the final sips before nighty night.
