‘Swastika’ Wrapping Paper Found In Walgreens Chanukah Section

A California grandma shopping for the holidays was shocked to find wrapping paper she believes looks like swastikas.

Cheryl Shapiro said she was with her grandson at the store in Northridge on Saturday when she spotted a geometric blue-and-silver print that featured lines connecting in a pattern reminiscent of the Nazi symbol.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes, I had no idea what to do,” she said…

Shapiro said the rolls were removed after she complained to managers.

“I told them I wanted this taken off the shelves immediately – not just your store, but national,” Shapiro said. “I was really putting my foot down because I was appalled by this.”

At least one other store in Chatsworth carried the same wrapping paper, NBC4 has learned.

A Walgreens spokesman told NBC4 the company was looking into the sale of the item.

Perpendicular lines do not a swastika make.

I think I may have to adopt that quote to place at the bottom of my email.

A pattern is a pattern is a pattern and that is all a pattern is. Just lines on paper.

Different 2g’s, children of holocaust survivors, as well as holocaust survivors, especially those who suffered in the camps, have different reactions. One who has not experienced growing up in a holocaust home or was not part of the holocaust, will not understand the pain.

I THANK WALGREENS FOR removing this wrapping paper all stores.paper. Those of us who are connected to the Holocaust immediately noticed the swastika. To us it is offensive and emotionally hurtful. IT may not bother most people but I can tell you most holocaust survivors and their families are reminded of the Nazis. and Hitler. RABBI DR. Rabbi, could you please make it plain to the readers where the swastika is in this tangle of lines? A simple screenshot, with the broken cross highlighted will really help.
