Ferguson ‘March For Justice’ Met With Racial Slurs, Display Of Fried Chicken From Darren Wilson Supporters

Posted by | December 5, 2014 08:30 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

About 50 activists marching from Ferguson to Jefferson City encountered hostility from Darren Wilson supporters in Rosebud. The protesters were met with racial slurs, a display of fried chicken, a melon and  and a 40-ounce beer bottle which had been placed in the street. A Confederate flag flew and racial epithets were shouted, according to the Columbia Missourian. Wilson supporters yelled out “welfare checks” to those marching.

One man showed his support for the KKK while staring down protesters. The man pictured reportedly yelled obscenities at the protesters and told them to “get back to work” while he was clearly not at work.

The ugly display was caught on video.

One witness observed a boy approximately 8-years-old holding a sign that read, “Go home.”

The window of the buses traveling with the march was shot out. The NAACP titled it the Journey for Justice.

The bullet landed in the windowsill and the outer glass was broken out, according to the driver.

Warning: The language and images are disturbing:

While saying they support law enforcement these are likely the same people who supported Cliven Bundy’s militia supporters who aimed rifles at federal agents.

If you’re traveling through Missouri, I suggest driving around Rosebud, not through it.

Moving to Florida appears less stressful every day.

They just have a different brand of cracker racists in Florida. Unfortunately, no state is immune from this disease.

But at least the temperature is warmer.

So at least you’re not all bundled up as you shake your head at the stupidity of your fellow citizens.

I bet half those folks yelling “welfare checks” are actually on welfare. Protest the march fine because that is their right, but act like an ass … not fine. Makes them the “thugs”. What is up that word lately? I use to hear it in the old black and whites that I use to watch as a kid. (Yes, I was an odd kid. I loved the old black and whites and old musicals. Danny Kaye fan here, but I digress) They called “mob guys” thugs. Are we recycling that term now?

    • Larry Schmitt December 5th, 2014 at 09:40

These “thugs” make Al Capone look like a humanitarian. At least he killed people for money. These people hate for hate’s sake. And if they thought they could get away with it, they would kill, even though they wouldn’t personally profit from it.

I bet they would. That’s the KKK’s history. I found the fried chicken, beer and melon really ridiculous. Oh, and I noticed that the chicken had been eaten and the beer was empty so …. guess that was their lunch? It’s ridiculous. Was Brown a saint, no. Did he deserve to be gunned down in the street? Hell no. Do I think cops have a tough job, yes. But it seems like more cops are just gunning black kids down. If this were white kids this was consistently happening to, would they be ok with it? I sincerely doubt it.
You can’t tell me they don’t have any white kids acting up like that.

Thinking outside the box, what if the black athlete went on strike? The black athlete has to know collectively they have a tremendous amount of leverage. You won’t cure racism but respect for solidarity and pro & colleges precious money pit called ncaa athletic department and the mighty professional sports complex might have to cancel games and give back ad money.
    The horror!

    • Larry Schmitt December 5th, 2014 at 10:20

But a lot of them think like Charles Barkley.

    And ‘some people say’…
“We live in a post racial society” (because) there is a ‘black President’…
Those are the same people that deny they are racist (because) they know black people they call “friends”.

Rosebud Mo is a tiny farming community off the beaten path, (miles from I-70, on Old 50 Hwy)..
The town (400+ population) consists of a small store, feed outlet and 8 or 10 streets and not much else..
Way back in 1973 I spent the summer near there bucking hay, and working on small farm/cattle ranch for the summer that belonged to my moms boyfriend.
I was 13 year old ‘hippie type” kid and mom wanted me out of the “the KCMO inter city” to keep me out of trouble during the summer..
I see the same old redneck f-ers live there that did back in 1973.
