Pat Robertson Declares Police Brutality Against Blacks A Thing Of The Past
Robertson said that while “there’s no question” that “African Americans in this society for decades have been subject to discrimination” and that “there has been police brutality in various cities,” that’s all over now and “we live in what amounts to a pretty much even-tempered type of society.”
“Police are very careful in dealing with people, they’re trained to be careful with minorities, and the abuses of the past are pretty much a thing of the past,” Robertson said.
Robertson all pronounced that the case of Michael Brown “isn’t a case dealing with social justice.”
“I’m all for social justice, and I think most of us are, but this case is somebody who may have been mentally disturbed, we don’t know that, he may have been high on something, we don’t know that, but whatever it was, the police officer had to defend himself and he was attacked in his police car. So why don’t they just cool it?”

Thanks, Pat, for a voice of reason. While there are still undoubtedly tactics which do go over the line, the fact is that most departments follow training which was the result of massive litigation in the old days. Small departments do have some issues because they do not have the money to conduct psychological testing or perhaps even polygraph in some cases for recruits, and the DoJ could probably assist by grants to conduct such testing. What the far left and far right refuse to recognize is that police can be (and are in good departments) a mediating force in most environments which protects both sides to freely express their viewpoints peacefully. In Ferguson’s case, the introduction of Section 8 housing may have played a huge role in that community’s transformation from a suburb/small town to an epicenter of violence. You just cannot put two cultural worlds in collision so rapidly without friction, as the “peaceful protests” which resulted in the incineration of multiple businesses. In the face of the cowardly decision to keep law enforcement and National Guard assets back during the first night of rioting, it is good to see both black and white armed citizens of Ferguson working together to protect businesses in the aftermath of the initial rioting. For Officer Wilson, he is owed an apology and reparations by the race merchants. If I was in the DoJ, I would also be looking to put together civil rights cases against anarchists and the New Black Panthers to seize whatever assets they possessed such as happened with the white supremacist group in Idaho.

Pat needs to try telling that to any young black male living in a major metropolitan city in this country today. Of course, we don’t hear about most of the black brutality unless it is sensationalized such as the Michael Brown incident in Ferguson, Missouri, thanks to the censorship of the major media outlets.
