Most textbook publishers will tell you that their textbooks are edited, if not actually written in Texas, as Texas is their biggest market. So new textbooks typically are piloted in Texas and subsequently introduced to the rest of the nation. These Texas college students are therefore giving us a glimpse of what knowledge base all college students will have in a few years.

It’s time to put integrity back into what we teach our children.

Sad state of affairs however I would wager that should this quiz be given in say Northwestern University the results would remain the same. It is not showing the sad state of education in just Texas but the entire nation. Why do you think we have fallen from first in education amongst nations to a sad 5th. This begins in kindergarten with the “no win or loose, all get gold stars” and continues with the beginners football (soccer) where no score is kept so there are no winner’s or loser’s. It continues with the revisionist history where important things, such as who fought in the Civil War, and why was it fought have been replaced with “Mary has Two Moms.” This began when the Department of Education came into existence and school boards no longer have the power to regulate what is taught in our States.

That’s silly. The war is not over because the South is still fighting it.
