At least the KY Catholics know to laugh at the Creation Museum. The rest of the Protestants in that state think it’s a National Memorial or Smithsonian Institute.

As if nuns are any better? Our nuns had the straight ruler martial arts training, that was the only difference.

But they were Larry. I was sent to a Catholic boarding school at age 4 it was run like my mother’s home. I see you survived the ruler what about the yard stick? The bar of Ivory soap? The nuns when I was a kid made it out of high school but had been taught how to teach by the others. I survived.

From my experience, neither the nuns nor the lay teachers would have been qualified to teach at a public school, where they at least would need a certificate. For the most part, the only qualification the lay teachers needed was to be a member of the parish. The nuns specialized in humiliating people. Standing in a trash can in the corner for talking, standing with your nose inside a circle drawn on the blackboard for I don’t remember what. One kid had to wear a wad of gum on the end of his nose.

They didn’t have lay teachers when I was a kid. Let’s face it the teachers in public schools aren’t actually “qualified” to teach either. The Catholic schools began to accept state funds and that’s how the lay teachers got in, take the state money take their teachers.
