California Seeking Emergency Rules On Drivers’ Licenses For Undocumented Immigrants
Click here for reuse options!The Legislature and governor in 2013 approved a new law that requires the state Department of Motor Vehicles to issue a driver’s license, starting in 2015, to anyone who can prove their identity and California residence as well as pass a driving-knowledge and road-skills test.
The public process for approving the documentation has taken months so the normal 180-day timeline for enacting regulations will take too long to meet the Jan. 2 deadline. The state will pursue the normal process but also an emergency process that takes 15 days and goes through the state Office of Administrative Law.
“Our commitment is to successfuly implement this law to increase safety on California roads and protect the high level of security in our licensing and identity verification process,” said DMV Director Jean Shiomoto in a statement.

Undocumented workers? Don’t you mean illegal aliens, law breakers, if CA wants to bring in money the cost of a drivers license is useless, start charging fee’s for overstaying or living here illegal, then when they do get a green card, make sure it takes an additional 10 years before they get US citizenship, when they get caught making bombs, driving drunk or become an impregnanting machine we can deport them faster.

You’ve overlooked something important.
Many of those wishing to stay in this country aren’t interested in getting citizenship. They just want to stay here and be left alone.

No such thing anywhere and don’t forget free health care, they won’t be turned down at the emergency room, pension, please…were getting used over and over again, taking in less than intelligent groups of refugee’s and immigrants, they won’t make enough to get by on and will need social assistance weather it be state or federal. Wish more Americans could get a clue, spend decades in these countries, many don’t deserve to leave the toilet they came from.

And NO! that doesn’t mean that they will be voting. The drivers license will be marked as a non-citizen so it can’t be used for voting. Not that an I.D. is required for voting in California anyway.
