Michael Savage: Veterans Who Suffer From PTSD Are A Bunch Of Wussies

Posted by | October 21, 2014 18:25 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

On Michael Savage’s radio show last week, he argued with a caller over whether California lawmakers should rename a San Francisco tunnel in honor of Robin Williams. Savage objected, and the caller, who suffers rom post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), defended the move.

Savage claimed it would promote suicide, then after arguing with the caller, he hung up on him,  according to Right Wing Watch.

Then the radio host attacked the veteran saying, “I am so sick and tired with everyone with their complaints about PTSD, depression. Everyone wants their hand held and a check, a government check. What, are you the only generation that had PTSD? The only generation that’s depressed?”

Savage went on to  blame America’s problems on those who “cry like a little baby” over depression. “If the whole nation is told, ‘boo-hoo-hoo, come and get a medication, come and get treatment, talk about mental illness,’ you know what you wind up with?,” he asked. “You wind up with Obama in the White House and lawyers in every phase of the government, that’s what you wind up with. It’s a weak, sick nation. A weak, sick, broken nation.”

Savage went on to call veterans who are suffering from PTSD a “bunch of losers” and said, “You need men like me to save the country.”

“You need men to stand up and say stop crying like a baby over everything.” He continued to say, “no wonder ISIS can defeat our military.”

    See,
Eventually they get around to telling
us how they REALLY feel, don’t they?
O! they LuV them some Veterans when
they’re using them as a prop. Ya know,
like when they took down the barriers
to the WWII Memorial. Waving all those
little flags. Then when the cameras are
gone, they promptly vote to SLASH their
benefits. O! and they also LuV to create
MORE Veterans because they also never
met a WAR they didn’t LuV!!

    • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 19:03

But they love it from a distance.

      • Dwendt44 October 22nd, 2014 at 01:12

As long as they themselves aren’t personally involved.

“…they also never met a WAR they didn’t LuV!!” or one they didn’t create.

In July 2008, Savage claimed that the increasing rate of autism diagnoses was the result of “a racket” designed to get disability payments for “poorer families who have found a new way to be parasites on the government.” He returned to the subject on his July 16, 2008, show with the following remarks:

Now, the illness du jour is autism. You know what autism is? I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, “Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.”

And now he is picking on our Veterans, this guy has no shame.

What makes this asshole an expert on anything? It’s easy to talk when you don’t have to show proof of your idiotic statements. Fox is proof of that.

      • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 19:08

I wish there were taxes on “talks,” then all of these idiots would have shut their mouths.

        • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 19:11

No they’d move the stations to Cayman Islands, and avoid the taxes.

Far enough away where AM radio signals can’t reach us would be ok with me…..

            • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 19:13

              HA!

            • M D Reese October 22nd, 2014 at 02:10

Speaking of AM radio–Rush is starting to slide. He’s being demoted from the big 50,000 watt super stations to the 5,000 watt local stations. I can hardly wait until he’s on some obscure internet channel. Maybe the Sarah Palin channel will pick him up…(hee hee)

If true, America’s collective IQ is going up a few points. Okay, 0.01 points in the case of RW zealots.

                • M D Reese October 25th, 2014 at 17:26

True that–you have to HAVE an IQ for it to go up. I think that exposure to people like Rush has a permanent affect though. It makes their minds completely resistant to facts and truth and reality.

          • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 19:12

            LOL ……….. good one!

And they would open up offshore bank accounts for their money.

          • Veri1138 October 22nd, 2014 at 07:00

Damn. Doesn’t he like Mexico or Dominican Republican for all the pre-teens?

        • M D Reese October 22nd, 2014 at 01:59

It would be nice if being a willfully ignorant asshat was painful, wouldn’t it? Rush would be in constant agony.

          • Veri1138 October 22nd, 2014 at 06:59

Or, maybe he was. Could explain all the oxycodone.

            • M D Reese October 25th, 2014 at 17:27

Hmmm. Never thought of it that way. You may be on to something.

              • Veri1138 October 26th, 2014 at 01:36

I found a use for philosophy: teaching perspective. The problem with philosophy is that too many get wrapped up in it among all the perspectives and actually choose one to belief as if that perspective were the end-all, be-all of explanations for human motivation.

                • M D Reese October 26th, 2014 at 18:34

Truth that. I find that it doesn’t bother me at all not to know exactly how or why we came to be. Here we are. Let’s deal with that.

    • Rafael Solorzano October 21st, 2014 at 19:55

What a sick statement, I know at least 12 families and have relatives with autistic children and you know what?, they are not faking it. Lots of Savage fans are

      ….like him.

      • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 20:05

Indeed, I know some people with autism and it is for real.

        This man is beyond disgusting.

    • Bunya October 21st, 2014 at 20:42

It’s easy for cowards to trash veterans and autistic children from the safety of his radio booth. After all, he didn’t serve in the military and he doesn’t know anyone with autism, so it’s okay to be a idiot with no shame.

I guess then that the answer is if you are not being supported by your government as an employee such as a soldier, then you should not work for that government.

forpeace posted a comment he made about children afflicted with autism, since that didn’t do, one can only hope this will. its disgusting no one was apparently offended enough to end it back then. i had never heard of this guy.

My suspicion is that most won’t care what he says, just blame the President and all is good.

  10. forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 19:35

Just to know what a disgusting person this man is:

Michael Savage explained in an interview that the U.S has sunk to the level of the Soviet Union in the 1950s, where government-controlled science and a government-controlled press were a way of life. “There are no more independent voices that we know are in medicine or science anymore,” the conservative radio jerk told Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alexander Marlow on Breitbart News Saturday on Sirius XM Patriot, channel 125. Marlow introduced Savage as being on the front lines, along with the Drudge Report and Breitbart News, in alerting the nation about the threat of Ebola at home.
Savage came out swinging in the interview, stating that he holds Obama responsible for intensifying the Enterovirus D-68 epidemic in the U.S. with “his unaccompanied minors from Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador, where the virus is endemic.” Now that American children are getting D-68, which Savage referred to as a mystery virus, “Not a public health official in the entire nation will even ask the question: could it be related to them,” he says.

If there was a “government-controlled press” then this Savage guy wouldn’t have been allowed to express his ignorance 24/7. I hope he packs his bags and moves to Russia, so he can enjoy his “freedom of Ignorance” next to Putin.

    • Cosmic_Surfer October 21st, 2014 at 20:19

Well, he would be right if he was talking about torture, imprisonment of activists and whistleblowers and spying on its citizens but I suspect Savage believes those are Okey-Dokey.

Michael Savage trying to channel Patton and fails…He doesn’t have the intelligence or balls and he lacks the reality testing.

Proving once again, Michael Savage is an idiot.

In Savages defense, he really doesn’t understand PTSD because HE NEVER SERVED, that miserable bag o’ puke. He and Ted Nugent are the two biggest turds on the planet and are an embarrassment to the human race.

He is way to short for military service in the first place. He either used or could have used educational deferments, much like ‘tricky Dick’ Cheney did.
The mental midget part matches his physical stature.
